Newish DM LFG Homebrew Campaign (5 players, no evil characters)

Hi everyone! I have played and DMed in D&D 5e for some time and I enjoy creating my own content. I have started constructing a homebrew campaign, and I'm looking for fun and dedicated players to make it come to life. My goal for the adeventures is to find a good balance between roleplay, combat and exploration. Not much is known of the remote continent of Efrafa. The human race started establishing colonies on the west side of the continent only 500 years ago. They settled peacefully on the green pastures, and thus, leaving the mountains to the dwarves and the orcs, and the southern forests to the elves, they managed to build a realm without any major conflict between races. Between humans, however, it was another story. A dispute began between the first and the second expedition leaders appointed by the mainland government (which had financed the colonization), each claiming their role as the main leader of the realm. After a century of political quarrels, their heirs made a truce and divided the realm in two kingdoms : Inle in the north, and Owsla in the south. Aside from the human history in the western part of Efrafa, little is known from the rest of the continent. The central mountain range, inhabited by the dwarven civilization of Vilthuril, splits the continent in two. Few expeditions made it to the east and back, where lies the vast deserts of Ahrairah and the barren wastelands of Elil. Of those hostile and mystic territories, mostly fables and legends are known. But for an adventurer, talks of danger rings like an opportunity for riches and glory! I am not the most knowledgeable person about D&D, but I have read a lot and watched many videos to learn how to run a campaign. Both new players and veterans are welcome, as long as the new players show dedication toward learning the game and veterans show patience if things hit a bump. Nobody is perfect, but everything can be sorted out through discussion. I don't want evil characters, but criminals are fine. Just as long as you don't kill NPCs for no reason. We will find a common, stable time to run our sessions through a Doodle poll. I'm looking to play once a week, between 4-6 hours a session. My timezone is UTC-5, but I don't care about yours as long as you are punctual and don't choke for petty reasons. I only accept characters from the races and classes of the standard 5th edition. If you are interested, please submit ONE brief presentation of the character you'd like to play. No need for a full backstory yet, but I will ask for one when we start the campaign. Who's in?
Name:  Victor Delavoix Background:  Noble (Whether he likes it or not) Race:  Human Class:  Bard Summary:  The son of a pair of rich, but less than influential nobles (though they would like to believe the contrary), Victor left his home in search of deeper meaning, eventually deciding to group up with a group of explorers to the east. Maybe he would find purpose there, all the while chronicling the great valor of his companions! Hope this is sufficient! :) I'm Kasper, 27, from Denmark, with too much time on my hands! I've been roleplaying for 14 years, but if I make a comment of some ruling you make, don't worry, I probably am just trying to get a picture of your way of thinking. You're the boss! ;)
Awesome, exactly the kind of player and character I'm looking for :) Do you happen to know some French? Because a bard named Delavoix is puntastic ;)
Not at all, but French sounds so nobleman-like, that I looked up the translation xD

Human or elf/fighter Summary . a frank castle-like bow specialist, maybe a soldier , mercenary or scout? Possibly a criminal as in a contractor, Abides by the contract and wouldn't kill innocence. I'm looking to play weekly if possible.
Half Elf/Wizard (Divination Archetype) A character who enjoys exploring the magical mysteries of the world, with an eccentric and often confusing personality. They seek to learn the mysteries both mundane and magical for their own sake! A sage or scholarch by background, with an insatiable appetite for the truth. My schedule is completely open on Mondays, any hour of the day. I'm a heavy roleplayer, but I'm always happy to be quiet and listen to other people get the spotlight!

I would absolutely love to join this campaign the lore interests me and i have been wanting to get into a good game and this sounds like what i'm looking for. Tbh i'm a little sad you only want one character idea as i want to see what would fit best into your setting in your mind but hopefully this will do  Warlock unknown  what race yet but prob Aasimar as i have a cool idea for it Cedrick Ash-hall is a father who lost his wife, and his son is missing so he follows a trail of crumbs to find him at all costs. He is a veteran that had hanged up his sword to live a happy life only to have everything flip on his head. He can be distant at times especially when he thinks about his past but he is a charismatic man that is honorable and trustworthy ,though a bit eccentric at times. He believes in good friends and being able to feel like he did the job right as long as it doesn't cross his strong morals. He was coaxed into a pact on the promise that the patron could guide him to his son for him (i would like to try something thematically interesting but i will wait to hear your view on it first)
This sounds like a game I'd love to play, if it sounded like I'd fit what you're looking for.   I've not played 5E, to date I've spent all of my time playing 4e and Pathfinder (currently in the second year of a Pathfinder campaign on Wednesday evenings) .  But I do enjoy learning the systems and would certainly be ready ahead of time if it seemed like I'd be a good fit for the group. I wouldn't be able to present a character out of the gate unfortunately as I'm so unfamiliar with the system, but I tend to play support/utility/healer types (the Pathfinder character I'm playing is a healer that I play as party face and knows 15 languages), I don't care much for the DPS classes, I'm much more comfortable playing a support/utility wizard than I am a rogue for example, the only exception would be perhaps a sword and board fighter.....I think it'd be fun as hell to play a dumb as a post sword and board character....ME SMASH...... YOU HEAL sort of thing. I'm pretty much available every evening of the week from say 7:00 - 12:00 EST with the exception of Wednesday (previously mentioned Pathfinder game).  Weekends are hit or miss, I have 2 kids in competitive sports so we do travel weekends somewhat regularly. The games I play tend to lean more into the RP side of the game, I'm comfortable with RPing my character, situations and missing combat for multiple sessions in a row.....as long as the campaign has a good narrative.  I play the game to play out the story and see where it takes me, combat being a bonus when it happens. If it sounds at all like I'd be a good fit let me know and we can chat more and go from there.  Do you plan this to be a short run or an extended campaign?
Name: Nate Experience: Only one game- super eager to learn and play more, but I understand if you want people who know what they're doing Availability for long sessions: Saturdays after 12 EST or mon/tues after 5 TZ: Est (-5) Character: Anduin Ragnarrson[ or Llygaid if elf] Race: Human (variant) or High Elf Class: Fighter (Eldritch Knight) Alignment: True Neutral [live and let live] Background[shorthand]: 22, just served 4 years at war, studies arcane arts
Alright. I'll give this a shot .  I'm UTC-5 (EST) as well, which is handy, and I'm free after 4pm on weekdays and most of the weekends, excluding Sundays 4-8pm, other game is scheduled there.  For the sake of this I'll just put one character idea, but I'm willing to be flexible depending on party comp. Would prefer Fighter/Paladin/Rogue/Druid. Name: Duval Background: Bounty Hunter/Adventurer Race: Human Class: Rogue/Fighter Multiclass Summary: Coming from a distant hamlet, Duval was a poorer member of society, doing general labor for the townsfolk, until there was a bandit raid on the town.  As he and the other citizens rallied together with the local law enforcement to fight them off, he found that he was good with a blade, and stealthy enough to perform an ambush.  Figuring that using this set of skills would be able to afford him and others a better life, he took out contracts from lawmen and guilds to assist them in disposing of bandits, criminals, and monster dens.  Overhearing conversation from guild members in a tavern about Efrafa, he decided to head out, searching for gold and glory.  Hi! My name is Chris, 21, from SC. I've been playing DnD for a while, and watching it for longer. I know the ins and outs of 5e, though i may ask some questions from time to time, especially about something vague.  This campaign looks like it could be a lot of fun, hoping to get a spot in.  Shoot me a message if I make the cut.
im CST time zone and i would likely offer to 0play my bugbear assassin, or potentially a wizard of some type. i am pretty free to come up with character concepts and fill roles to help out the group. my characters are usually quirky in some way, and im fairly free most times im awake. c:
Name:  Rimros Background:  Commoner Profession: Scribe Race:  Human Class:  Sorcerer I do not have a backstory drafted right now, as I'd like to be able to talk with you and set up a backstory that would work best with your world. As of right now, I would like for my character to be a shadow sorcerer. I'm in UTC-7, and my availability works best on Saturdays 10 A.M. UTC-7 to 830 P.M. UTC-7 or Sundays 10 to 530. I'm interested in the world you have built and would be interested to see it grow. Shoot me a message if you'd be interested in talking more
Well that's awkward, I didn't get a single reply in 3 days and all of a sudden 5 people want to join... I'm sorry fellas, we're full for this game :/
Hi everyone, I'm going to go ahead and close this thread. Thanks!
