[LFP][DnD 5e][8:30 PST Saturdays] Original Setting - The Covered Sky

[Currently integrating 2 new players, and I do not think I can handle more, so applications are closed for now, sorry] Hello, I am the DM for this campaign. It's been running for approximately five months, and the players and the party are level 6 nearing level 7. We are pretty easy-going group and do not take the game too seriously, but we do like to play by the rules. Ultimately, I reserve the right to make calls as necessary, that is usually only when the rules are vague. That is not to say I'm inflexible, so if you want to do something that is not written the rules, but seems feasible, I will try and think of a mechanism through which you can attempt to do this thing. Setting: Originally the continent was a thriving empire, but after an event that still remains unclear in all its details, the land began to reject the designs of man. The earth tore down cities, and pushed man to its limit, covering itself with dense forest of high thick canopies and a dim gloom full of predators and poison. The growth of the forest is abnormally rapid, and the settlements of humanoids that have been encountered have been forced to adapt their society to eke out a living. There is a settlement along the middle coast with high log walls housing a militarized commune. More southerly, the village of reef fishermen stay off the mainland and build their homes on stilts away from the coast to avoid the perils of the forest. To all societies, iron is precious and scarce: far more valuable than gold to the societies that live hand to mouth. Story: The players began in the militarized commune, simply called "the settlement" because its inhabitants are unaware of the existence of any other such communities. The player characters, through their own good nature or curiosity investigated the screams of distressed teenagers echoing through the forest in the early evening. There an alien insect avoid predator is found with blood and excrement causes the forest to die and stay dead. The players were tasked by the people to find and eliminate any more of this threat. While doing a cave was found with connection to the fey, and the mysterious book bound in bark and on a route pedestal illuminated by the soft blue light of thousands of glowing mushrooms arranged in the druidic symbol of sanctuary. Upon touching the book, a painful and mysterious ritual occurred; they were bound, injected with fluids and siphoned of their own. When they awoke, they found part of their body had been covered in tribalistic designs and the closeness with a certain aspect of nature. The party has been roaming, looking for answers as to what happened to them, and what has happened to the world ever since. If this game sounds interesting to you, please let me know. EDIT: The players are the following classes. - Changling Bard, - Human, Fighter(1) Druid(5) - Triton Cleric - Firbolg Monk (This player is no longer with us, and who we are trying to find a fill-in for)
Sent you a dm.
If you are willing to take noobs in Im down to see what it is like, just need to know what classes the other players are
I have dnd experience, just not in 5e. If you're willing to deal with me adapting to the rules I'd be very interested, the story sounds really original. What times do you usually play? My schedule tends to be limited to weekends.
It is from 8:30 PST on saturdays. I already the two other people interested, and I think I can only handle this many PC's at this time, otherwise I would have been happy to take you in as I have no problem with people adapting. I hope you find a game soon, and if someone falls through, I will let you know.
