I am doing an interest check for my 'The Remnants of Velorganda', a homebrew campaign I have been working on. It will be ongoing and weekly. It will be played on a weekday evening starting around 6:30PM-7:30PM EST. Wednesday is currently the placeholder, the time is pretty firm. As far as the campaign it should be a very good mix of combat encounters, noncombat encounters, and roleplaying. Occasionally dungeon crawls and big battles. Pathfinder: Pathfinder is really just the template I am using to put player characters in my world. I have been a DM for over 20 years off and on. Mostly for 3.5 when I was younger but when I discovered roll20 I first encountered pathfinder and I prefer it. I am pretty familiar with the rules but I am not perfect, so I'd like most of the players to be pretty familiar as well. I like to think I am a pretty creative DM, there should be lots of fun encounters and puzzles, a few big battles. The world is completely homebrew, at this point I have over 80 pages of written material regarding this campaign! I change/revamp a lot of existing creatures and make all the manner of things up. I'd like to stress that I don't pull punches, the campaign will be pretty tough by itself, and it will be very easy to get your character or others killed if you do something stupid or reckless. *****|| So a little background about the campaign: ||***** Velorganda was a prosperous and mostly peaceful place before the shattering, when the world cracked and the portal to the nether was opened. The shattering all but destroyed the world, though only a small percentage of the overall population parished that day, it started the world on a downward spiral. The oceans became toxic. Mount Nathian erupted and continues to pour magma and emit thick smoke, in less than 3 months ‘daylight’ was all but a memory. Worst of all was the shattering itself, the creatures of the nether realm flooded through the portals, lead by a shadowy figure known only as 'The Dark One'. Over the following 10 years all but the largest cities were decimated by The Dark Ones forces. The future looked bleak to the surface races, until the Dwarves of Dirn Faldir surprised everyone. They opened their isolated kingdom to the surface races, offering open sanctuary to all. Dirn Faldir had long been considered impenetrable, the main entrance to the vast underground kingdom was a labyrinth of tunnels and traps. The surface kingdoms fell one by one, and the refugees grew fewer and fewer. Finally the day came when the Orc armies broke the surface defenses, and they first entered the tunnels. No refugees arrived after that day. The Dwarf King withdrew his remaining forces to the interior defenses provided by the labyrinth. They would become the ‘UnderGuard’, the steadfast protectors of the last haven the world offered. Still the unending armies of the Orcs persist. They pour into the tunnels daily. Occasionally big enough groups of Orcs push so far they engage the underground cities, and overtime many have fallen. Years passed, then decades, and then centuries. Slowly the Orcs gain territory. Almost 500 years have passed since the day of fire, and the Remnants of Velorganda are desperately trying to survive. We will use discord. A microphone will be necessary, and you will also need to know how to set it up to simulate push-to-talk. Also you need to be capable of speaking understandable English :)
