Upcoming Wooden Ship Set

I hope to get the first of potentially two or three modular ship building sets out this week. The first one being a simple set of Longboats that can be assembled from tiles, as well several premade versions. When combined with the Seascapes and Reefs set it will be possible to even create sunken ship map scenes. Although the first set will be a longboat set, I am hoping to get a proper hundred-gun tall ship set based on the HMS Victory done either for this week or next week. I want to open up this opportunity to ask folks if there is anything essential that they want to see in these ship sets before they're released. Anything from thematic texture designs to props and/or miniatures. So, what do folks out there feel is important to have in a wooden ship set?

Viking longships would be awesome.
I'd say the details actually. Stuff like the carved mermaids at the front, carved railings (or just a rope) for the stairs leading up to the helm, torn sails and undamaged ones. In short the stuff that would allow me to make the ship seem damaged to brand new. (stuff like barrels, ropes etc can already be found elsewhere, all over the net)
Keep in mind that too much detail will just make the scene way too busy and cluttered.
Perhaps the detail items could be separate graphics included with the set, which individual users can place when and where they wish on the ship itself.
That was the implementation I was espousing, yes. Not every ship has a mermaid, not every ship has a torn sail. :)

Okay, the longboat set is done and should be available on the marketplace by the end of the week. Per suggestions I've kept the designs "uncluttered" but the ships themselves have a fair amount of detail to their appearance, especially the sunken style. Folks should be able to create a rather wide variety of different ship layouts with differing lengths, number of seats, oars, optional sails (including some different colors for the sails), etc... There will also be some single image pre-assembled ships for those GMs that don't have the time to assemble the ship tiles together themselves. A much larger ship building set focusing on tall ships, based off of the HMS Victory, will be forthcoming. A lot of it is already done, but it'll include things such as interiors for lower decks which will by necessity cause the tall ship set to be much larger than the long boat one, so it may be awhile before it makes it on to the marketplace.
A Spanish galleon would be great for pirate themed games. Their shape is very different from English warships.

Well, the longboats set is finally available for sale. https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/set/286/ship... I will totally take in to consideration the varying hull shapes of the Spanish Galleons and other tall ships when I work on that set. There is definitely quite a variety there and I really want them to look good as well as being assemble-able (is that a word?).
