Still trying to figure out how to properly use macros and the api scripts

Hello all, Ive been using roll20 for about a year now mainly as a tool for our in house sessions dnd 5e mainly. However, I've just starting using marcos and the api scripts. One question of the day right now is: how can i link the shortbow to the ammo tracker. The idea i have in my head is that when you click the shortbow macro it will auto track the arrow spendages. Thank you for any and all help. ps. any material that you could share to help me understanding how to build macros specific to 5e would be amaaazingly clutch.

The script you need depends on the character sheet you are using. Both the script for the Roll20 5e DnD sheet and the Shaped Sheet for DnD 5e have scripts available in the drop down. When the latter is in a high cycle of development, though, it might be better to install sheet and script manually. To the best of my knowledge, either one of these allows for ammo reduction.

If you're not using either of those, there are some API scripts that can automate ammo use.  Ammo is one I wrote.
