Cruel fate or crueler machinations have made you a passenger on the Courier's Fate, sailing through the dense fog of the Saintsea; your ship is plague-ridden, but as is your destination. Crestmire. The hole beyond the sea where the dying and diseased are sent to waste away in body and mind. You are no different, and though you won't die anytime soon, you know in your heart that this is a one way trip. This is a campaign inspired by the game Bloodborne and the show Penny Dreadful, with Victorian era influences, Gothic horror trappings, and Lovecraftian undertones. The story starts with our heroes on a ship fated for the docks of a distant colony meant for the diseased and dying. The classes most suited for this campaign are Blood Hunters and Warlocks, and a lot of effort has been put into creating places for their specific Orders and Patrons. Other classes could, of course, find thematically appropriate places, as well. We'd be starting at level three, in a homebrew setting with its own cosmology and pantheon, and a rich world of history for the players to uncover as the story unfolds. I'm a story-centric DM, with a focus on worldbuilding, creating atmosphere, tying in PC backstories and mysteries, and roleplaying a diverse cast of NPCs. I often take a good two weeks to work with the players and make sure we've all got interesting and believable motives and do some brainstorming. If this sounds like the type of campaign you'd be interested in, tell me about yourself in the comments below; how long you've been playing, what kind of player are you, what's your timezone, a name to call you by, how old you are, etc.
