Disclaimer: I searched back to August of last year and didn't see anything of the sort posted. Normally on a square map if I hold down alt and measure then the tool will show measurements of 7.5ft, 6.1ft, etc, etc. But on a hex map it seems to only show the scale (0, 5, 10, 15, 20, etc) with nothing in between. Is this a bug/design of hex? Is there anyway around this? I'm running kingmaker and the map is in hex format.

Hmm, that may be a bug, Ill bring it up with the Devs. As a workaround I suggest temporarily switching to a square grid when you want to measure fractional distances.

Ah, true, that is a workable idea. Thanks!
The way the hex ruler works is that it counts the number of hexes between the start and end, then multiplies by the scale (e.g. 1 hex = 5ft.) Unfortunately in hexes (at least, the math we're using currently) there isn't really a concept of "half a hex," which is why you're only seeing whole numbers.

How does the square version calculate it? Because it's able to measure even small minutia of changes. It doesn't use "Half a square". Unfortunately the hexes aren't 100% symmetrical so I assume that is the issue here.
