Roll20 LFG listing here: https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/148505/saturday-knights It's 1492 DR, and it's Springtime in Yartar. You're a Knight, sent by your order to assist in the aftermath of the yearly hiring faire. Only one group dares to challenge threats to the realm, the Saturday Knights! Gathered together from both the nearest and farthest reaches of Faerun, here in this great Hall of Justice, are the most knightly forces of Knighthood ever knighted... Some guidelines/tips on playing a paladin: https://youtu.be/-t3_kylsqiI We've got, uh, about 6 Knights so far, looking for 10 (since the general rule is you lose half the players over the course of a campaign) : Sir ?, the apathetic Paladin of Boccob Sir(Madam?) Whispurr, the tabaxi Paladin of Sharess Sir Han, the Vengeance Paladin of ? From Kara-Tur Sir ?, the old-man paladin of ? He has arrived recently from the small priory where he was the head administrator. It was very rural but cozy. White picket fences. Well lit and patrolled streets. And pastries! Lots of pastries! Sir ?, the Paladin of ?, Keeper of Secrets Sir ?, the Paladin of the Kraken, Devourer of Souls. Okay, this started out as a "Paladins-Only" campaign as a joke since one of the other campaigns I played in had a "NO PALADINS" rule. We've since modified it to be more like "Knights" - You can follow ANY Deity/force/patron that you can come up with, and I think we'll allow most "Oaths." Hell, make up a completely fictional deity if you want, we'll shoehorn it into the campaign. We'll start out with 3rd level characters since that's when you take the oaths. We'll probably also allow fighters, eldritch knights, monks... maybe martial Warlocks (?)... maybe a knight-like Ranger (?) but no caster-centric or non-knight-like classes. So: No Barbarians, Sorcerors, Wizards, Clerics, Druids, Rogues or Bards. Warlocks & Rangers are very marginal. Open to "standard" D&D races. No flying races or psionic-powered races or anything crazy. Damnit Dave, for the last time: NO ETTINS. It's a 5e D&D Campaign. It's gonna be thematically along the lines of the old '80s SuperFriends Saturday morning cartoons, so don't look TOO deeply into the... "plot," or the silly reasons villains come up with to want to destroy Yartar, or raise their undead army, or make questionable pacts with demons. It's up to you, the Saturday Knights/SuperFriends to stop them and save the world every week. What to expect : We're a bunch of old 1e and 2e guys screwing around with a 5e campaign. For some of us, it will be our first 5e campaign. It will specifically be this Dungeon Master's first 5e campaign. Therefore, you should go in with low expectations to avoid future disappointment. There will be ingame chaos, sweeping retconns, bad rules interpretations, railroading, creative swearing, descriptive violence, awkward roleplaying and outright ignoring of reality for the sake of the story at times. There will NOT be any sexually explicit bulls___ since that just makes everyone super-uncomfortable. Your Dungeon Master will do funny character voices, but you aren't required to. The game requires voice, so you ARE required to have a decent headset microphone that doesn't broadcast every little ambient noise or allow the rest of us to hear what's happening throughout your house. I'm a big fan of letting the dice decide what happens - all rolls are made in Roll20 so everyone can see your critical success (or failures.) All characters and events in this campaign (even those based on real people) are entirely fictional. All celebrity voices are impersonated... poorly. This campaign contains coarse language, bad puns, and due to this content it should not be played by anyone. Rated 21+, Mature audiences only: player discretion is advised. We'll have an informal get together this Saturday Feb 9th starting around 6PM Central US time to go over the most basic of basics. We'll have the official Session 0 the first week in April. Session 1 in... late April / May? Well, we'll figure it out.
Id definitely like to join in on this epic adventure if you’ll have me. New to D&D for the record.
hello, I would like to join I am available to play Saturdays from 730 on. I have experience with 3rd edition but am willing to do some 5e as well!
This sounds.....ridiculous. Color me interested.
I am interested in playing. I also have never played 5e, the last time I have played DnD was 3rd edition... But I like playing Bards. I would posit that a group of knights would need a bard to list their activities so they could go down in history, no? Every knight I've known has wanted that.... fame and glory, and whatnot. I guess if Bard is absolutely prohibited, I would be cool with playing a greedy fighter.
This sounds really fun. I am brand new to DandD. I have played a couple of sessions with a group that ended up disbanding. My name is Ashley, I am 23 and an aspiring fantasy author and have basically no limit to my imagination. I would love to join depending on what time/day you plan on doing it. I'm in the PST timezone which looks like it will work great with your timezone.
I love this idea. Myself and my partner are both absolutely on board.
This is the best idea ever. I would love to play if there is a spot available!
Me too! I'd love to play :)
Interested and dropped something on the old Saturday Knights link you put above.
Holy crap this blew up a little bit. I'm going to limit the players to... 12. "Once the number twelve, being the twelfth number be reached, then cuttest off thou thy Roll20 campaign to further players, who, being worthy in my sight, shall join it." Obviously we won't always be playing with 12, and apparently the rule of thumb for player attrition is: You'll lose around half the players over the course of a year or so. Hopefully we don't lose too many along the way! You'll need Discord (where we do our chat & voice for the game), a decent headset & microphone, and of course Roll20. The game will run every 2 weeks, Starting with the, like, first "actual gaming session" around end of April or beginning of May. We'll have plenty of time between now and then to schedule a "Session 0" to come up with a knightly character, ask questions, mess around in Roll20 to test out any game mechanics, chat with the other idiots you're playing with, etc
