Looking for GM and group members for Vampire: the Masquerade, Mondays and Wednesdays 3-6:30 WST/6-9:30 EST

Three players so far, two who've played tabletops before, but none of us is confident in our skills to be GM. We'd prefer twice weekly sessions, but if that needs to be changed, we can cut it to once a week. We're okay with Second or Revised editions, and already have characters (mostly) set up, and we're okay with pretty much anyone running or playing, as long as they are amiable to the rest of the group.
Send me a message to discuss.
I'm an experienced ST for Vampire, and might be interested in picking up a game, though the times and days listed could be problematic for me (that would be around my 2 AM or so, on a weekday). Can you tell us a bit more about what kind of style you like? Sounds like you've got some idea about what you like, if you already have characters you want to play.
Well, play styles vary between group members, and while i can certainly attempt to speak for all of us, it would likely be disjointed due to said variations in preferences. Personally i'm more skilled at dialogue intense roleplay, anything that is more involved and reactive, really. i've never been the best when groups get disjointed and i have no-one to play off. That doesn't mean i can't function, it simply is a preference of mine, having someone to bounce off of alows me to develop my character further, and lets me know how to work. As to the characters follow-up, i actually have a few characters i have set up decently, and can choose whatever the ST or group feels would work better. As for the rest of my group, While i cannot speak in detail to their preferences, i can say that i've noticed one of us (the one playing a Brujah) is, well, a bit stat-focused for my taste, and seems to function better with large, clear goals and a clear plot in mind. while these are not things that i contest with, i've always been more about the journey than the destination. Our other player, at least the only other one for now, (playing a Malkavian) has ideals that intersect mine much more frequently, being more story-focused, and character-driven, and generally more adaptive than the rest of us.
Would be interested in joining as another player if there is still a slot open.
Well, we have three players, and are willing for up to six. more would get hectic though, and considering some of us have anxiety, im fairly certain the yelling that always come with large groups would do us no favours. In short, yes we have slots open, and would welcome new players.
Hey, I'd love to join if you've got the space. I used to play VtM back in high school, but that was a while ago so I'm pretty rusty. But I'd love a chance to get back into the game.
Hey, I'm the person playing the Malkavian. I honestly can't explain what exactly I want from this game. I mostly just want a story and character driven game, like was previously stated.
Still looking for an ST, first and foremost. Secondly, we have a slot or two open for more players. And if the previous posters don't join then we'll have more. Just clarifying what's still needed.
Is there any information i have missed that a potential ST would need/want? I feel like i've missed something in here, and if anyone would help me fill whatever that is in, it would be greatly appreciated....
I don't think you missed anything really, but your requirements are relatively specific. There's always more than enough players who want to play WoD games, so a potential Storyteller really shouldn't have too much trouble finding people willing to join if they were looking already. Twice a week quite is quite a lot for most games, especially if you consider that preparing a session takes a lot of time outside of play as well (personally I wouldn't want to run more than one session a week with my schedule tbh). Plus the whole time issue is certainly going to be problematic for at least some people. Already having character ideas or preferences is generally nice, but for my games I would at least have some restrictions as to what players should aim for in characters, so complete characters might be problematic. The additional downside when looking for ST as a group is that there's always the potential that there's one guy in there that the ST doesn't really mesh with (especially if you already stated that people might have quite different tastes in what they want out of a game) or doesn't want in their game for whatever reason and then it gets awkward when it comes to trying to decide whether to split up a group of friends because of it (which is why I am personally always a bit careful about having couples I don't both know or friends of friends join). Not trying to be rude or dissuade you, but all that is limiting your chances of finding somebody willing to be a ST for your group. If you want to play and you already know each other, it might just be easier for one of you to try and bite the bullet and run a game themselves, even if it is just with your group. It's definitely less complicated than it seems (and it doesn't have to be complex or perfect right of the bat), especially if you already know the game mechanics somewhat and played it before. Best of luck in either case.
I am actually interested in STing and your group sounds just fine, Brooke. I also have no problem with players already having characters they'd want to play - quite the opposite. I start my Vampire chronicles with the players' ideas about what they want to play and then mix them with my own. That's not what makes me hesitant to offer myself as a possible ST. The issue with me, personally, are the days and hours you picked for the sessions. As I said, for me that would be around 2 AM , which isn't really a problem for me usually, but we're talking 2 AM on a weekday . Twice a week. 2 days apart. Sorry, I can't do that.
hello i just wanted to say thank you for the advice, and that I've talked it over with the group times and day(s?) have changed, to Sundays, and we don't have a scheduled time, as Sundays none of us have anything scheduled. if anyone knows a way to change the title to reflect this i would love to do so. We have also talked to Tim about his focus in the matter, and we think we've convinced him to take it a bit more seriously, and not be so focused on what's on paper. We've made points, he's made points, and we think we have a more unified sense of what we want out of this. TL:DR, we've fixed the times to be more flexible and on weekends, and have unified the group. We're willing to alter characters as needed if the ST has a problem with anything.
Hey. I was wondering if you still had room for another character?
