[D&D5e][LFP][Discord] Long-term campaign Starts 3/10 Need 4 Players 7pm EST Sundays (new players welcome)

Hey all Looking for 4 reliable players to start a long-term homebrew campaign in the Forgotten Realms lore setting.  Starting players at 1 and taking them as far as they want to go.  We will meet on Sundays at 7pm EST.  We are looking for friendly and respectful people. I don't mind teaching new players how to play, as long as they are resourceful enough to look up some information by themselves and not have to be taken by the hand for everything.  We also strongly encourage and reward role play, not just power gaming through fights.  Any classes or races out of PHB, DM, or Zanthars. Back Story Calimshan, the heart of the slave trade, plays host to its capitol, Calimport. One of the largest, and certainly most vile metropolises in all of Fearun. You find yourself forced into the most deplorable of conditions in the known world, free or not.  Without friends or family, you are alone and questioning how this came to pass. The last you remember, you were sitting in a friendly tavern having a drink and now you’re here. But how could someone have gotten the drop on an astute adventurer such as you? Not knowing how you came  in to these conditions is probably the worst, but you vow vengeance on those that would have caused this pain. But you know answers and retribution will be tough to come by, and they certainly won’t be free. The only positive thought you can muster is that it looks as though some of those around you may feel the very same way. But you’re not going to do it in rags and chains so what exactly do you plan to do about it? Please reply back by a DM with a Race, class, and a least a start of a backstory.  Also note it here so this gets bumped up as well  Thanks

Fazud Rhaha (Human) Barbarian Fazud is a bandit lives his life in the Calim Desert, he and the group he was with lived off the scraps of what the Dark Raiders would leave behind during their raids...however during on the scavenging a nearby scout of the Dark Raiders stayed a bit behind to scan the area for the next target. The Dark raiders leave no survivors and certainty do not take kindly to anyone taking what was rightfully theirs to take, so they waited for Fazuds camp to fall asleep...and then when then moon was full, they struck. one by one the bandits fell, Fazuds at the time was gathering water from one of the oasis. He came back and the entire camp was gone, the riches were taken, the men were slain and the women had been taken...His entire life was gone, distraught and broken he walked...and walked...and walked until the city of Calimport was within his site...using what he had left he brought himself to a tavern and bought the strongest and largest ale he could afford and drunk his pain away.

Hi id be down for an extended game. I have weekends and afternoons available so id be on regularly. I have little experiance with DnD and roll20 but im willing to learn and i like role play. ill do/have done some research but ill need some guidance.  Grustag (Human)  Ranger Grustag was exiled by his his tribe when he was a boy, now he wanders the land hunting to survive and bounty hunting to make some coin. Grustag was on his way to Calimport with 2 runaway slaves in tow he planed on collecting a reward for. However, the man Grustag planned on collecting his payment from was a liar and a thief. He took the slaves from Grustag and threw him back into the streets of the wreaking city with a bloodied face for his trouble. the only thing to do now was find a bar and get piss drunk. Hoping to avoid unwanted conversations he found the drunkest man in the room and took a seat near him.
I'd be interested in trying it out, i'm Irish so GMT but think I can make it work. I'd be interested in possibly playing an oath of conquest paladin Sithes yn Naius el Almarif (Human maybe not sure) Sithes was born to a humble trading family, the eldest of 5, he was taught negotiation and and the arts of trading from a young age, but as he grew older Sithes found himself more enamored in legends of great warriors and kings, conquerors and those who fought for others, he found himself longing for a life of more action rather than the subtle strategies of trade, at the age of 16 he applied to the El Sadimmin as an Askar and found himself fighting to keep his country free from the rampant bandits of the Calim Desert, (not sure what ending military rank may be appropriate) having grown used to the art of traversing the desert and keeping some semblance of safety in the traversing of the Calim desert, he would find himself now having served ten years swept in the foulest of desert sandstorms, he and the forty other men beside him would shield themselves from nature's wrath. Unfortunately as the saying goes when something can go wrong it tends to, settling themselves safe of the storms impact, a group of bandits would strike at once like a tsunami of blades and arrows in the sand, outnumbered and unprepared they fought well but were quickly overwhelmed, they took many with them but they could not face it all. Forced to retreat, Sithes found himself alone and battling wounds and dehydration he travelled for what felt like weeks running out of water and food. Suffering dehydration hunger, and heat stroke, he would fall in the sand dying. Luckily found by a traveller in the desert, he would be brought back from the brink and to the nearest city, after a week or so of rest and healing, he found himself feeling better and in a tavern.  (added in some of the last bit to fit your plot point better)
Name: Matt Character: Chime Class: Rogue Race: Kenku Background: Chime grew up in the city of Calimport near a clockmaker's workshop, where he developed both a fascination with the clockmaker's tinkering and craftsmanship and a rudimentary vocabulary, and a mage's school, where he would often try to spy on the students through the windows and mimic the arcane gestures and words he observed (when he wasn't being chased off). He makes his living as a courier, running messages from place to place in the city and delivering them in perfect imitation of the original speaker. The last thing he remembers is drinking in his favorite tavern, the Coiled Snake, when the whole room started spinning and everything went black. As he wakes up and clears his head, his first thought is that he has somehow fallen afoul of a thieves' guild that he owes money to.
I've been playing D&D for around 6 years now and I've been doing voice work since 2010! I enjoy playing more morally grey or straight up evil characters.  Vera Lightdrinker (Human) Wizard (Necromancer) Vera was raised in a family of noble transmuters and slave traders. Their goal; keep the  Syl-pasha presentable by lowering his physical age.  Being adopted into this elven family at a young age, she learned of the cruelty that is life. She felt it was unfair, and by 16 she diverted her attention away from divination to something much more sinister; necromancy. She knew of the dangers but... she needed more than what she was given. She needed more time to live! It's no fair her elders live on but she would die at 1/7th the age! By age 21 this fear of death only grew hysteric, she knew what she had to do. She fled, using some contacts with slave traders to smuggle her out of the city for some coin. She developed a disguise and a false identity; Yira Thindershawm a novice mage in training. She now seeks a party to blend into, to travel with to obtain her goal.
Kai Stonewell  race: half-elf  class: ranger  background:  My name is Kai Stonewell. I've always wanted to see the world outside my Village. In  my clan after we become of age we are granted the chance to go out and explore the Wilds after a few years of hunting and Gathering I have found my way into  a town but there I began to find shops or traitors who I can sell my the hides and materials I have got from the monsters and creatures I have killed throughout my journey. After  selling some of the items I've had I want you to look will Tavern and they are beginning to ask the barkeep if there are any guilds around that are looking for members.
Rayineen (half-elf, wood elf variant) Druid In the most inhospitable part of the Border Wood a village of human exiles insist on trying to live; through deals with the wood elves and the fey they've been permitted to exist so long as they do so in balance with the forest. Each generation a young woman leaves the village to become a Forest Bride, a sort of ambassador for the village to the forest itself. None return, but the village remains safe from the fey who remain hostile to other humans. Last generation was Rayineen's mother, and while she didn't return entirely to the village (rather, living in a hut outside of it) she left her position as Forest Bride for reasons she refused to explain. The fey announced they would continue to spare the village if she gave the daughter she was pregnant with as the next Forest Bride. As soon as she was born Rayineen was raised close to nature, to "prepare her for what she was to endure." But when the time came for her to take her mantle her mother instead instructed her to run and be spared the fey's wrath, and that she was not the one to break the compact. So Rayineen fled, never staying in one place for long, making small amounts of gold off her knowledge of and connection to the forest. Not much, just enough to let her occasionally buy a meal and a drink before moving on. Except doing so in Calimport might not have been the best idea, and she may not be moving on so soon.
Hello there, looking to join this campaign. I have moderate experience with D&D but little experience with Roll20 but I don't mind learning. Below you will see my application. Hope to hear from all of you soon. Thank You.  Name: Haskel Class: Paladin Race: Human (Variant) Backstory: I was once a proud member of my kings army as my father had been. I had been on many fronts, could always count on my comrades. One thing I could not count on were those above me. Cruel despots sending good men to die. One day an officer in my regiment sent us to take a garrison that we all knew was suicide. It was heavily fortified and they knew we were coming. However, the commander's words were: "I don't care how many men die to take that garrison! Just take it!" None of us mattered in their eyes. Last thing I remember before being placed in a cage was my fist connecting with the commanders face. During the dead of night, my men had freed me. I grabbed my things and fled as far as I could, reaching a tavern in the slave city of Calimshan. Not even my commanders would dare venture here. One drink was all it took to make me pass out on the bar. Someone spiked it. Now I'm in another cage, with people I don't know. At least I was heading away from that army.
