[LFP][FATE][6PM_CST] Superpowers, Sorcery, & Science, Oh My!

I got the urge to try something different than DMing for 5e. I wanted to play with superpowers. There's so many good superhero shows out there, each with their own spin on it, and I'm like, let's make our own. The tone and the specifics will depend on the group, and the shows and superheroes that influence us, so if this sounds like something you might be interested in and you're not intimidated by learning the FATE system then tell me a bit about the superheroes you like and a bit about yourself and your tabletop rpg experience.  Also. This came about because I just finished Umbrella Academy. Not saying tbsrd what we need to go with, thematically. Just saying you should watch it. Other influences of mine are Smallville, Agents of SHIELD, Heroes, Arrowverse stuff but it's starting to lose my interest, the Netflix Marvel stuff, Spawn, X-men, the whole Bat Family (comics, cartoons, and cinema), and so much more. I think something from any of those kinds of set ups would be fun because they all have their own appeal. Tell me what appeals to you the most. Feel fee to pitch a superhero or power set or origin story.
Hi I'm nick 18 and have been a DM and player for 5 years of 3e dnd to 5e dndnand Pathfinder I like dead shot (is he a superhero tho..) but I'd want to make my own thing I think I've seen this system before and want to try it out
Also I'm est and would rather Monday or Tuesday games after 4pm est untill whenever
Hello, I'm Chris.  I just recently picked up the FATE Core book, and have been looking for an excuse to crack into it.  Won't you have me at your table? As far as superhero stuff is concerned, Street -level scope has always been what drew me in the most.  It has less disconnect. Generally-speaking, I prefer gadget- and martial art-using heroes.  Some detective work is also fine, though I can be pretty thick sometimes. I am also in EST, and sometimes my work goes a bit over 4 on weekdays, but not usually.  Occasionally it goes a fair bit past that, though, so if I come to your table, understand that I may run late (but shouldn't usually).  If it's weekdays, I need to stop at 10 pm (central) at the latest.  Friday and Saturday are easier to go later. Thanks for considering me.
Since it's not mentioned, is this voice, video or text?
Voice.
Still looking.
Hello! I'm Val, 21 year old dude from Ireland (I'm on GMT but I've got a lot of free time so). I've mostly been playing D&D 5e for the past year but I've been wanting to play a FATE game for a while now so I'm super willing to learn the system! Also, I'm very into the superhero premise for a campaign, it sounds like it could be a ton of fun. Superhero stuff I like though includes some of the stuff you've actually mentioned (Batfam + other DC stuff, Marvel, X-Men), but most of what I watch are movies and cartoons, as comics are kinda.... Difficult to get into, but yeah! As for what kind of starting premise, something like X-Men where people who display powers are tutored and live together in a sort of superhero academy, something like that? But, honestly, I'm up for anything! The only times that I can't do would be Monday or Thursday nights, but other than that, I'm completely free!
Hi there! I've recently started playing a FATE game on Wednesday nights with friends and am also unavailable Saturdays. My current group is kind of loose on the rules but I have a general sense of it. Some of my favorite superhero media has been Batwoman's run in the Detective Comics, Watchmen, the Legion tv series, and Thor Ragnarok. While I can appreciate it all I think the subgenres that most interest me are detective noir or super tongue-in-cheek pulp that knows it isn't being taken seriously (one of my favorite RPG experiences was playing fast and loose raygun heroes in John Harper's "Danger Patrol Pocket Edition"). Would love to join the conversation!
Sounds interesting, what time and day you thinking of playing?
