Hello I am looking for a GURPS game to join. Right now i prefer sci-fi and high points characters. But my foremost goal is to join a GURPS game so if you have one, give me a call. I am 27 years old and have been playing GURPS for two years. I live in sweden and would prefer to play with players in close times zones, +- 2 hours, so UTC -1 to +3. Any day of the week works, but if it is not in the weekend it would be perfect. :) PS Thought I would give some info about GURPS for thous who haven't heard about it. It stands for General Universal Role Play System. It is a rather long and bad name, i know, but it is a good description. You can make any type of campaign with it, there is almost no setting that fits better or worse. Compared to many other systems it isn't based on Classes or Levels. Instead you build your character with points. Every improvement (Advatanges/skill etc) costs points and disadvantages gives points back. Instead of trying to roll the dice, adding your own skill value and try to get over the difficulty like many systems, GURPS does the other way. Here you roll three d6 and try to get below your own skill. So, if you try to hit with your Gun skill of 15 you need to roll 3d6 and get 15 or less to hit, which is about 95%. And compared to many other systems where the attacker rolls to pass the defenders static skill, the defender gets a chance to do an active defense, choose how to defend and roll his dice. I have heard a lot of people saying that GURPS is hard and over complicated. Well, maybe. Yes there is a lot of skills and advantages/disadvantages. But that only allows for a less generic character, right? If it feels like that, just use the Lite version of GURPS. (If you think that one has to much data, well, then you would probably faint if you read the full book.) There is a lot of extra books to help with making different campaigns and evolve the system, but they are far from obligatory for play. http://www.sjgames.com/gurps/ http://www.sjgames.com/gurps/lite/ -Mini version with all you need to start. http://www.penandpapergames.com/foru...hs-About-GURPS -For the complainers :) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GURPS
A very naught bump for a final try on this forum. Lets hope someone sees it.
