[LFG] Champions

3rde rules, looking for interest from 5 players. Setting will be players who have experienced the chaos and war of the 1st and 2nd "pulses" of a worldwide phenomenon known as "the pulse" that occurred 7 (1st) and (14) years ago with a third "pulse" expected anytime soon. The year will be 2021. The third pulse can come any day now and it will bring with it a worldwide outbreak of paranormal manifestations in people and things. After the destruction of the 1st and 2nd pulses paranormal entities have been remanded to second-class citizens so they have generally gone underground and tried to live ordinary lives. But the thrid pulese is imminent and powers are growing to try to take advantage of the next pulse and grow their power base. You are the resistance, and only you can prevent the US and the rest of the world from drowning in chaos and war between normals and supernormals. Are you up to it?

I would love to join you.  Always loved the game but it was always difficult to find said game. Please look me up if you are still looking for players.

Looking over a few things I've decided to upgrade to 4th edition rules as that Corebook seems most complete. Players with access to only the 3rd edition or 5th edition will not be handicapped as I have up to 6th edition rulebooks. Point Buys: Build to 400 pts with a 75 pt cap per type. Any questions about this should be directed to me. Exception: Do NOT buy anything you can buy with money with character pts. It makes no sense to buy a wristwatch for several character pts when you can buy 1 for $5 at Dollar Tree. Unless you want that wristwatch to do something special. Then it must be purchased with character pts. If you have questions, please feel free to ask. The following organizations are known and recognized - THRUSH, SPECTRE, UNCLE, WHIPS (World Headquarters for the Investigation and Neutralization of Paranormals), CHAINS (Command Headquarters for the Acquisition, Investigation, and Neutralization of Supernormals), VIPER, and most other Champions organizations and villains including groups, teams, and individuals. World history diverges from our real world timeline starting in 2007. The current year is 2021. The current POTUS is 54 years old and is considered to be a good guy trying to hold the lid on a boiling pot. He's considered a shoe-in to be re-elected.

What day or time?

It hasn't been absolutely decided yet, but session 0 is set for Wednesday, March 6 at 1pm (GMT-6). Beyond that it will be at 2 week intervals and may slide days depending on the player's schedules and availability. It's mainly up to the players at this point and my own schedule (I run 3-4 other games).

Aw...darn.  Was looking forward to breaking out my old BBB. But work during the day so sorry!  I have almost all the books from 1st-BBB.  Also have Fred.  Didn't like the more crunch trend with Fred so didn't get 6th either.  BBB is the golden age for me.  

Sorry, I've been out of the loop so I'm not understanding what BBB is (Big Blue Book?). There are little to no differences between 3rd and 4th editions as far as I can tell and the 4th edition corebook is quite comprehensive. Now, being that Wednesday at 1pm (GMT-6) has not been firmly nailed down as the actual day we'll be playing, and given that Champions characters tend to progress slowly, I see little reason why you (Rerednaw) could not create a character and play whenever you can. 6th ed is pretty much out the door since I don't care for many of the changes (cosmetic and actual) made in it plus it does not receive very many positive reviews.
