Slowing down Forced Focus to avoid virtual whiplash

The 'Forced Focus' feature (SHIFT +mouseclick on a map to draw the players attention to a particular spot) is plausibly very useful. However - my players hate it . The transition is far too swift, so they get a jarring, disorienting shift in their point of view. It's uncomfortable for them, and it breaks immersion. It's like I've reached over and wrenched down on the steering wheels of their brains. Would it be possible to create a GM option to slow down the transition from Forced Focus by about, say, five times? If we could arrange a gentle movement across the map for each player POV then this would give the players a sense of ordered transition, and reassure them that their GM loves them?
