GM options to track stat alterations

i don't know if this is possible yet but i don't know if there is a way to track stat alterations to players without editing the char sheet and messing with the original stats. id like a non-destructive way of removing str points or whatever stat without destroying the char sheet. this is useful for monsters like a shadow that remove str every hit. which would alter encumbrance temporarily and chance to hit. is there any way to do this?
As of now, the best way to handle this is to keep a screenshot of the character’s normal stats and change them temporarily to reflect the difference in their abilities. After the effects have been cured or healed, you’d change it back to normal. I suppose the way to change that is individual character sheet augmentation in each system.
it would be nice for the gm to have a dummy char sheet that we can do stat alterations on that doesnt interfere with the original char sheet.  or as turn order goes around we can click on the affected stat and when turn order finishes it keeps track of it until you click a macro for short or long rest.

Nick, which sheet are you using? Some sheets (like the D&D 5e OGL sheet) do have the ability to adjust stats from other parts of the sheet. For example, in the D&D OGL sheet, I could add an inventory item to a character's sheet with a strength modifier of -1 called "Vampire Curse" or whatever I want to name it. Basically, what you're asking for is possible, it just depends on if the sheet author who made your sheet has allowed for that functionality.
is there any way to have monster attacks subtract automatically if they hit? and i was talking about sheets in general. but i use the d and d 5e ogl sheet.

Nick, i think there is an API script that will subtract things from player sheets when a monster attacks but don't know the name but just remember there is an hp script, ammo script, and a few others that automatically adjust things on the sheet.
