[LFP][Exalted 3e] Looking For Players Thursday 6:00pm MST

When: Thursdays 6:00pm MST What: Exalted 3e (modified for light rules and heavy story) https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/151879/exalted-saviors-of-varsi I am looking for 2-3 more people for an Exalted campaign starting 03/14/2019. Exalted is a high action TTRPG based in an Eastern influenced setting (Think Journey to the West or Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon), in which you play warring demi-gods fighting to save Creation. Exalted is a high power role playing system in which you think big and live large, the players of Exalted can cut buildings in half with a single sword swing, topple kingdoms, create world-rending spells, establish new religions, suplex a T. Rex, and sing songs so beautiful even storms stop to listen, to name a few feats. Players do not need experience with Exalted or TTRPGs in general, this campaign is set up as an introduction to Exalted's settings and rules; and it is new person friendly. If you are interested please post here or DM me.
I would love to play! I have been a huge fan of Exalted from the beginning. I have the book, but I am still learning the system.
actually sounds fun, might be able to join, what are your houserules? i have played exalted 2e and 3e
Sketh welcome to the team! It will play like Exalted 3e, but just cut down in number of mechanical interactions. Initiative is out, fun cool idea, but takes a lot of time. My personal goal is no more than an hour at most per combat. Next big one is only get five charms at start, but you don't have to worry about prerequisite charms, just min ess and ability scores. I find in Exalted tends to give you too many and it's hard (for me at least) to track them all. Instead I want you to have a hand full of really good ones. Finally the biggest change is that rules take a back seat to story, using mechanics to determine points of conflict. Dice come out to punch that guard or persuade that merchant, but I'm not going to stop to find the exact rules. Instead I'll come up with something that fits and we keep moving. I probably won't play standard poison rules (too much book keeping), but if you want to play a poison master we'll figure out some fun ones. As a result I love custom made stuff and player input. You want to play an Exigent of a Custom God with home brewed artifact chopsticks, awesome, I love it. Custom spell based on a TV show, let's do it. Martial arts based on an obscure Russian Grappling art, yes.
well ok, i am definitely interested, bit nervous since exalteds system is wonky at the best of times. Do you have a story synopsis, and what types of characters would work for it?
The basic story is that a small team of Dragon Blooded took over the trading town of Varsi. They have found a vein of white Jade running under the town and currently ripping up the whole town and enslaving the populous to dig up the Jade. The City Father of Varsi has sent out a call to any nearby to repel the Dragon Blooded Invasion This campaign was meant to be an introduction to Exalted so I encourage people to make Solars but if you have your heart set on another Splat we can make it work. My DMing style is to throw a problem with a standard resolution (ex. bandits attack, murder them before they murder you) but love it when players solve it their way (ex. Instead of fighting the bandits, you recruit them). I believe we currently have a stealth oriented character and a summoner type. So we can use someone who's good at social combat and one who is good at regular combat. But I know a lot of campaigns will throw challenges and let the dice fall as they may. My campaigns adapt to your actions. If you go more combat focused you will be approached to slay demons and crush armies. If you use words to surprise and confound your enemies, alliances and trade deals will cross your table. If you use magic to fix things then people will bring you stories of ancient magics and lost artifacts. So don't worry about making the "right" character, build a fun character and we'll see where the story takes us.
