New World of Darkness?

I'm thinking of running a Mortals game. The players would be normal humans and part of a private detective agency that tends to get unusual cases. But I'm not sure how interested anyone here would be in a NWoD game (especially without any Supernatural templates) and I'm not sure on what the schedule could be, as I'm only free Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Anybody interested, please post here.
Sounds cool, but I have already applied to two games.  If one of them falls through I will join up.
More information: The Game:  World of Darkness: Mortals The Method:  Mix of Skype and Roll 20. MICROPHONE REQUIRED The Time:  Yet to be decided, but likely sometime on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. Alternatively, I may do it every other Thursday (on days when I'm not running the DnD game), or maybe have one mega-long session per month. The Premise:  You live in a big, generic, and vaguely-defined city, and you work for a Private Detective Agency. Players will work together to create their characters and flesh out their pasts with one another (the first will be partly dedicated to this). You are all  normal mortals with no experience with the supernatural.  Any characters who deviate from that will be vetoed. The details of the agency itself, such as what it's called and who what positions each character holds, will also be decided by the players. Post here if you are interested, and offer your input on the schedule.
I'm interested but it would depend on the times we would be playing at.
I'm interested, Friday or Sunday would be great.
There's no such things as vampires.
I'm interested. Out of the days listed, Thursday and Saturday (any time) would work best for me, but I might be able to make Friday evening or Sunday afternoon work.
So, if I'm reading this right, there are 4 possible players here. On another forum I advertised this game on, there were two interested people as well. Right now, I'm leaning toward the Every Other Thursday plan or the One Long Session a Month plan. Thoughts?
I would like every other Thursday, but a single session a month would be fine.
Let's shoot for every other Thursday. Who wants in?
I'm interested. Saturdays, Fridays, or Thursdays are good.
Counting the other forum I'm advertising this game on, that's 3 people who are interested in an every other Thursday game. If we can get 4 or 5, then we can start getting ready, I suppose. Oh, yes, one thing I didn't mention is that newbies are welcome. NWoD is not a difficult system to learn, so it shouldn't take long for any new players to catch up to more experienced players.
Awesome, I'm down for Thursdays so count me in.
Now comes the question: which Thursday should we start on? I believe I mentioned before I run a DnD 4e game every other Thursday as well, and our next session is next week. So should we have the first session THIS Thursday or two weeks from now? There's also the question of time. I'm on US East Coast, so I use EST/EDT. I assume most people have things to do during the day (I have class from 11 to 12:15 on Thursdays), so an afternoon/evening timeframe works best. The aforementioned DnD game starts at 6pm EST and runs until whenever (usually 10). Would something similar to that work for people? Also, I'll need Skype names.
I live in the south US,( CST) so 6 pm EST (5 pm CST) sounds a bit early for me, 7 pm EST sound good?  I have no problem starting this week. Skype name is dan3st3r.
7pm sounds fine. One of the people from the other site is in the UK though. I'm not sure how long he generally stays up.
I vote for two weeks from now please. My schedule becomes significantly less busy after then. I'm in the same time zone as dan3st3r1. My skype name is alexthe4th.
7-ish PM (EST here as well) every other Thursday works fine for me, if there's still room--I'm fine with starting this week or next. My Skype name's orcajoe.
So Thursday, March 13, at 7pm EST then? Sounds like a plan. The extra time will also give me more time to prepare the chronicle. If that's too long to wait though, we could decide on an earlier time and do our chargen meeting on skype before starting the game proper on the thirteenth.
Awesome, sounds like a plan.
I can't make that date but you can continue and bring me in at some point later. I don't want to delay the game just on my account any further.
I'd be interested in joining if there's still room. I'm good for Thursdays
Unless I'm counting wrong, I think that brings us to 6 players-- 4 here, and 2 on the other site (I told them to make accounts and post here, since they'll be playing on this site anyway). Seems like a good number. Do you want to do chargen on March 13, or before then? If we do on the thirteenth, then I'll probably do a miniature chapter with a really simple, straightforward plot to fill in the time afterward. Partly so we can get used to eachother, and partly so any newbies can better familiarize themselves with the rules.
So is that a "we'll do chargen on the 13th" then? I want to do group chargen to establish everyone's shared histories.
Sounds good to me!
Are we making characters on the 13th or do we need to make one previously?
We're making characters on the 13th. If you want, you can get started before then, but be flexible and don't fill out too much of your background, as the reason I want to do a group character creation session is so that all the characters start the game already knowing eachother, and having worked with each other for at least some time.
Okay, sounds good
interested if you still have room, tough I'll be a newbie in NWoD
I'm counting about 5 players, which is the size I was aiming for anyway. If anyone drops out, I'll post here. Keep in mind that two of those are from another site. I told them to make an account and post here, but I don't think they have, so they may not actually be part of this anymore.
The two players from the other site have vanished, so their spots are open. If you want in, say so, and tell me your skype name. That's 2 open spaces.
skype: justinmelgarejo is NWoD easy to learn?
Interested in NWOD, have had some experience with W.O.D games. I look forward to play as a mortal in a none supernatural environment. 13 March, 7 PM, sounds good, have yet to confirm if it really does work, think it should. Skype ID John-Kenwoods
Alright, I sent a pm to all the players with the URL of the game tabletop. See you on Thursday.
It has been brought to my attention that I screwed up the date. "Thursday, March 13" is kind of confusing because today is March 13 and it is Wednesday. I meant the 14th, and I apologize for the confusion. The game is tomorrow.
Hey guys. I'm really sorry, but something came up, and I don't think I'll be able to run the game tonight. It wouldn't be fair to ask everyone to wait another two weeks (and, to be honest, I've been having really bad writer's block trying to make the NPCs), so unfortunately I think I'm just going to cancel this whole game. I'm sorry. I didn't anticipate these difficulties I'm having and I apologize for that. I hope you all can find other games to be a part of, since I really dropped the ball on this one.
