Australian Newbie Tabletop player looking for group!

Hi, I am a new player looking for a group I have played video games based on the D&D ruleset (Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights ect) but I have never actually played the actual tabletop game that these video games are based on, figured this would be the best place to start. I have read up on 5E D&D and am mostly familiar with that ruleset (relatively speaking of course) but I am more than willing to try other rulesets and settings, just need a finger to point me in the right direction. I am an Aussie so I may be in a different timezone to most people, however I have no problem playing with people in other timezones provided session times fall within accessible time periods for me. I can be pretty flexible with times however I probably require at least a weeks notice so I can schedule my work shifts to accommodate.
