Curse of Strahd (castle Ravenloft maps)

The maps are set to 10 feet per square and not 5 foot per square, easy to go in there and change it in game but upon purchase it should be set to 5 feet. I cross refenced to make sure the book confirmed that ration and it does. Crypt 6 describes space and so does page 80 for area K73 as well as numerous other locations.
Hello Periculant, Can you provide us with the names of the specific maps/pages that are scaled wrong for you within the module? I am unable to verify which map you are referring to for "Crypt 6". However, I did locate area K73. It is on map/page Ravenloft Map 12. It is scaled to 5 feet per square. Additionally, due to the variations of maps and sizes within Curse of Strahd, we do have a section in the "Start Here" journal area titled "Roll20 Note About Battle Map Scale". In that journal entry, we mention which maps are sized like they are and "if you wish to set it for scale accuracy", how to do so. We hope this information helps. If you have any additional questions, feel free to let us know.

" "no adjustments are needed for strategy accuracy" discussion on why maps are 5 feet and not 10 feet. Firstly the maps on roll20 are not in the published version/module. someone made a judgement call on the scaling and was wrong I would presume. Because of the above stated statement as well as the following. Vistani camp (page 120) says it is One square = 10 feet Argynvostholt maps (pages 131 and 137) say it is One square = 10 feet Abbey of Saint Markovia Ground Floor (pages 149 & 153) say it is One square = 10 feet Tsolenka Pass (Page 158) say it is One square = 10 feet Amber Temple maps (pages 182 & 190) say it is One square = 10 feet Werewolf Den (page 202) say it is One square = 10 feet So every other map is correct at a 10 foot square (as published). however the scale is not stated on the Castle Ranveloft map inside the module so someone somehow came to the conclusion that Ravenloft was 10 feet squares but was incorrect. On Page 86 on crypt 6 it says " the 10-foot-square section of floor in front of this crypt" it says this but with the roll20 map scale of each square is 10 feet instead of 5 feet the space is actually 20 feet instead of the published 10 feet. page 74 (K61) "20-foot-wide" (bottom right hand corner of the page). page 63 and 64 the elevator is described with the counter balance "10 feet on a side" and "solid block 10 feet on a side" (roll20 map depicts 20 feet a side) page 82 (K77) "10 feet to a wall" (roll 20 map depicts 20 feet) page 84 (K79) "10-foot square landing" (roll 20 depicts a 20-foot-square landing) page 84 (K81) "the tunnel is 120 feet long" ( roll20 depicts a 240 feet long tunnel) page 85 (K84) "10-foot square crypts" (roll20 depicts 20 feet crypts[making all of the crypts wrong]) furthermore the following post is how your interface reacts to a 10 foot grid vs a 5 foot grid
This is with 5 foot scale everything is the correct size and they way it should be for battle and everything

This is with 10 foot scale and now my PC is covering an area of 10 feet by 10 feet so it is wrong so I have to alt key to change his size

This is with 10 feet and my PC in my game his correct size and the room is still to big. Also when you alt key to change the size of the PC in game as seen above it only wants to stick to the top left corner of the grid square so my pcs have to hold alt down each time they move and use the ruler to figure out there movement. All this is corrected for me by easily going in and changing the scale to 5 feet from 10 feet. It took my 3 minutes to fix all the maps. Every other DM instead of wasting there time finding out what I have will have a lot of time saved if roll 20 changes the map scale to 5 feet from 10. Simply put, someone made a simple mistake and there is a simple solution and that solution should be exercised .

Hello again Periculant, I have taken a look at the mentioned maps. The Vastani Camp, Argynvostholt Ground & Second Floor, Abbey of Saint Markovia Ground Floor, Tsolenka Pass, Amber Temple Upper Floor, Amber Temple Lower Level, Werewolf Den pages all have the grid's opacity set to 0. As such, the grid you are seeing is the one that is on the map itself and is scaled correctly. This allows for the Roll20 interface to work correctly. When you turn the opacity up, you can see that the Roll20 grid is 5 ft per square. Though having the grid's opacity turned all the way down, makes the grid of the map showing, which is the correct scaling of the map. As far as the other issues you presented, I have passed them along to our devs. As soon as we have more information for you, we will let you know. Best
Vistani camp (page 120) says it is One square = 10 feet Argynvostholt maps (pages 131 and 137) say it is One square = 10 feet Abbey of Saint Markovia Ground Floor (pages 149 & 153) say it is One square = 10 feet Tsolenka Pass (Page 158) say it is One square = 10 feet Amber Temple maps (pages 182 & 190) say it is One square = 10 feet Werewolf Den (page 202) say it is One square = 10 feet So every other map is correct at a 10 foot square (as published) . however the scale is not stated on the Castle Ranveloft map inside the module so someone somehow came to the conclusion that Ravenloft was 10 feet squares but was incorrect yeah I understand, what I was trying to say with this portion of my prior comment was that every map on the 10 foot scale was Correct , with the exception of Ravenloft. I poorly articulated that, sorry. in any regard thanks for our time.

Periculant, My guess is this has to do with the recent adjustments to the grid system that was rolled out this last week. https://app.roll20.net/forum/permalink/7272889/ and https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/7273363/dev-server-update-page-settings-dialog-box Looking at the updates regarding patches for modules, it doesn't look like Strahd has been patched yet to fix the maps. (thread listing patched modules: https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/5392197/wizards-of-the-coast-bug-report-megathread/?pagenum=3 ) Any maps that used a 10/.5 setting should be patched to match the new functionality which would be 5/.5 (you can manually change to that if you need it before a patch is provided, to restore correct functioning to the maps). Hope that helps, and given how many patches they rolled out last week, I wouldn't be surprised to see the remaining modules get updated very soon.
