This game will require payment to the Game Master at a rate of $12 USD (via PayPal). Roll20 is not responsible for any payment transactions and cannot enforce any private arrangements. Welcome to the Isle of the Dragonlands, a small continent dominated by two nations. The Nation of Gaia, who follows the Dragon Goddess of Nature, Rebirth, and Prosperity, and the Umbral Lands, who follow the Dragon God of Honorable Combat, Perserverance, and Protection. You will take on the role of a small military squad fighting for either side. Will you choose to fight for the Umbran people, who serve the Immortal King and are vying for control of the Dragonlands as their homelands waste away. Or will you fight for the Gaian people, led by the courageous and charismatic King Richard Ways, struggling to keep their prosperous home safe from the invading Umbrans. Both sides are growing desperate as the war drags on. The Umbrans are struggling to support the war effort due to their waining economy and resources. And the Gaians are failing to keep the armies sufficiently supplied with properly trained soldiers. They seek to reawaken their gods, to assist them and end this war, once and for all. Game Info + The game will take place weekly. We will determine time and day together, to insure maximum compatibility with everyone's schedules. + There is no set start date. Once all players have been chosen, then we will decide the start date. + New players are welcome, experience is appreciated. I will help with character creation during session zero. + There will be a session zero in which we will go over character sheets and work out any homebrew or third party options that the players may want to use and to decide what will be permitted. This session will only cost **$5**. + If you are going to be absent from a session, I will need at least 24 hours notice, unless it is a medical or family emergency. Drop Int/Out is fine, so players who are not there will not be in danger of losing characters. How the Game will be Played + There will be a maximum of 6 players. At least 4 players (not including myself) will need to be there. + Some house rules will be used and more may be added down the line to streamline the gameplay process or to make the game more satisfying. + Discord will be used for voice chat and general communication. + I would prefer if players came in with a good sense of humor and the desire to have a good time. It is still a paid experience and I would like to make sure everyone is getting the most out of the game and to be courteous and understanding of other party members and how they wish to interact with the world. + Common sense "don't be a dick" rules apply. Be nice, try to sort out disagreements like an adult, don't hog the spotlight or talk over other players, and generally just avoid being an unpleasant person. Everyone is here to have fun, after all. + This is an all-inclusive game: offensive behavior will be met with a warning. There will not be a second. Campaign Specifics + We will be playing 5e (obviously). The party will start at 1st level with one free feat and attribute will be rolled during session zero. Attributes will be rolled during session zero as well. + Any first party content is free to use. Unearthed Arcana, Homebrew, and third party content will be allowed on a case by case basis. + I tend to allow most alignments save for Chaotic Evil. Just remember, you're part of a group. So if you're evil and act evil in a group of good characters then that can bring down the whole game. + I have a system in which the players have set goals and then large periods of downtime in which they can take up other quests, do shopping, buy property, and the like. But there are story beats that will happen that will "railroad" the party for a while. + Expect a good balance of both combat and roleplay encounters. I tend to run 1-3 combat encounters a session but there may be entire sessions of just roleplay if it is what feels natural at the time. + As for difficulty, I want this to be an experience that you all enjoy. One in which you always feel like if you play smart and plan ahead you can take on any foe. But rushing blindly forward WILL get the party killed. Think smart and it should be a moderately difficult experience. + This campaign has an end point that may change as the campaign goes on and the party makes more of an impact into the world. Expect to get to levels 15+ throughout the course of the campaign. + Fairly high magic setting taking place in a nation ruined by war where it is possible to purchase borderline any magical items from vendors that would realistically carry them. Crafting such things will be prohibited early on, but allowed later. + The backdrop of the campaign is that of an oppressive force attempting to take control of an entire continent. It will be dark at times but always have good moments throughout. It will be edgy at times, but not edgelord as it were. + Due to the nature of my games you must be at least 18 years of age to apply. There will be sexual content, foul language, and graphic violence. What You Are Paying For? Here is a little bit about me as a DM: + I bring 15 years of DMing, over the course of which I have run 4 successful long-term campaigns and several shorter ones. + I will be available on all agree upon dates (family/medical emergencies/hurricanes not withstanding). + I have and will always strive to keep a good attitude and keep the game moving forward. + In all my years DMing, I have strove to insure my players have all enjoyed themselves by the most important rule that a DM can have: the Rule of Cool. + If anyone is not enjoying themselves or something occurs that you would like to discuss, I will always be available after a session to talk with players. + I will make use of Roll20's lighting effects to the best of my abilities and will have maps ready for dungeons, all major encounters, and generic maps for smaller/random encounters.
