[LFG] UK Mature (ish) player, looking to join a game [GMT]

Hi all Moved house about a year ago, leaving behind a really good group of friend I used to play with, had our 2nd baby now who is starting to sleep a little better, so got a bit more time on my hands. Can't find any groups local to me (UK south coast) so hoping I could find something on here to scratch my RP itch. Played a fair share of systems from d&d, shadow run, WOD, FFG star wars, Savage worlds, warhammer etc. Just looking to join a game of people preferably 30+ years of age, who meet up once a week, or ever two weeks for a game. As mentioned, I'm flexible and will join in any game that is being played.
Would this interest you? https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/7316013/text-only-one-shot-game-saturday-night-gmt-d-and-d5e However, it's a one-shot and text only! - let me know :)
Hey Simon, we have just got a grouo started and though we atill need a GM we would love to have you. We have a range of ages and none of us are immature (some of us had had some rather unpleasant experiences with these types of players). Interested?
Hi Godthedj, thanks for the invite, but as mentioned, I'd really like to get into something for a while, plus I don't like the idea of be typing everything, I'd rather use voice chat. Ana B. what is it that you guys are wanting to play?
I too am 30+ looking for a group with time enough to adapt to each other's style, and I am only one time zone ahead of you. We might be of similar minds :-) I could GM in CoC or Ars Magica, maybe Chivalry and Sorcery too, and play almost any system. I'd rather not have to buy new rulesbooks however, and I think the only system where I am up to date with the latest edition is Ars Magica. That needn't been an issue. I have played in some groups without ever having read the rules, and it never was an issue in those groups, but it depends on the group. It does not work so well with roll playing as with role playing. I have played lots of things, but none recently. If are two people agreeing on an approach, I am sure others will follow ...
Hi there. I am a GM with 30+ years of running/playing games looking to start up another game. I can run a wide variety of systems/genres and i am in the GMT time zone. If a group can be formed i would be willing to run a game, what game can be decided later (though i am not willing run D&D or Pathfinder, already plenty of those games running).
Ana, George, Noel, could we be onto something here?? A gm looking to start a new game, and some players, not d&d or pathfinder is fine with me, how about something a bit Sci-Fi? or maybe Cuthulu mythos? Savage super hero's?
I am not familiar with Savage Super Heroes, but generally, but that needn't be a problem. I find it hard to relate to overly alien worlds, especially if the game is supposed to be serious, but I have no idea if that applies to Savage Super Heroes. Of Sci-Fi (ish) games, I am familiar with World of Darkness and Cthulhu. I have played Over the Edge, Tales of the Floating Vagabond, Cult (Kult?), Twilight 2000, Cyberpunk. Of all of these, I find Cthulhu by far the easiest to follow. I'd suggest that to use that to get started, and then consider alternatives when we get to know each other and Roll20. Have you played on Roll20 before?
I have been running/playing games on here since 2013, so i have some idea of what i am doing... :) Game wise, finished a Cthulhu game recently so being involved in another CoC game would be low on my list of games to play/run. I am a big fan of running sci fi games, so always up for that (Traveller, Savage worlds, Coriolis, others). I can run cyberpunk 2020 but recently had a bad experience with that system so again not high on my list to revisit soon. Plenty of other options/genres to consider yet as well, hell could even run some form of fantasy (though not D&D/Pathfinder as mentioned above).
I am the only roll20 newbie then. Fair enough. What kind of world do you have in mind for these games? Traveller and Savage Worlds are pretty generic, aren't they. I think it is the world that matters. System is immaterial in most cases.
Played and gmed quite a bit on roll 20, so yeah, need to decide then what we'd like to do, if you do want to GM Noel, what's taken your liking most recently? Got any new settings books you fancy?
If i was to run something, it would be likely traveller (mongoose 2nd ed) set in a sub sector generated by me. Characters would be hired by patrons to do all sorts of jobs/mission etc within the sub sector.

Any interest in playing RuneQuest:Glorantha? I have a game starting on Friday 5th April at 8:00pm GMT/BST played every other week. The group is mostly very mature (ish). https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/150734/borderlands
I am not reliable on Fridays. Frequent clashes with family events and weekends away, so no thanks from me. Traveller looks good. No experience, but I have leafed through the core rules, and nothing is particularly strange. Feels a bit like Twilight 2000. Character creation looks a bit tedious and requiring great attention to detail, but if we create characters in a group session with a guiding hand, that should not be an issue. And creating a team rather than random characters makes for a better game. I'll be happy to join if you start. Timewise, I am available Monday/Thursday from 7.30pm UK time and Tuesday/Wednesday from 6-7ish UK time. Saturdays and Sundays might be possible from 7.30, but I prefer weekdays.
I'm running Mazes & Minotaurs, a free RPG based on the idea of role-playing emerging from ancient world miniatures war-gaming instead of medieval miniatures war-gaming. The result is an old-school D&Dish rules set with a classical base to the chaotic blend of various flavors. The rules are simple enough to pick up as we go along, but since they are still freely available it costs nothing to educate yourself in detail if you decide you like it. The current adventuring is forest exploration. A variety of pre-generated characters will be available, with just enough background to provide a motive for being there. If you keep playing (and the character survives), you can develop additional background and character as we go along. If this sounds like something you might be interested, the game is to be found at: https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/100381/time-of-heroes-original-mazes-and-minotaurs
