Is It Theoretically Possible...

...to import a character sheet, such as a pdf, from an exterior source. For example, the Hero Designer 6 allows you to save your sheet as a pdf. Is there any theoretical and practical way to import that sheet to a game? The only way I can think of is converting and uploading it as an image file.

A pdf can be dragged and dropped into the game room but it is converted into an image and is not editable. There is a D&D beyond script and I think another script that can use json to import but don't quote me on that.

You could import it as an image file, but it would just be an image - you wouldnt be able to add it to a character sheet. Some character sheets have an ability to import from external files, but that's because the character sheet writer has written a custom function for it, which is a lot of work. 5e shapes sheet has a way to import from stat blocks, i believe. No one has written a parser for hero designer format files as far as i know, so you cant import them automatically, unfortunately.
Kind of what I was thinking, and afraid of. Thanks for the replies.Guess we do it by hand.
