Hey, I'm definitely interested, I prefer homebrew campaigns to published material. I'm definitely looking for a long term thing as well. I've been playing TTRPG's since the 80s. I see on the game page you gave some parameters for an initial application. I also love that you talk about the importance of reason and logic, as a formally trained logician that speaks to me. I have trouble making characters without knowing anything about the game and setting, especially on roll20 how people seem to expect you to create a character before you even know if you're going to be able to join the game (and when you're new to roll20 and trying to find your first game that can mean making 10-20 characters with no promise of being able to play them, and usually with zero or next to zero to go off of about the game and setting). I put a lot of thought and time into character creation, and while I have made thousands of characters in my long years playing, I would prefer to get some basic pieces of info before creating something. I have no problem making something that works well with the DM's needs, setting, etc. I'm not the type of person who finds out about the game and setting so they can make the most stand out misfit to those parameters, quite the opposite. I like to immerse myself in the setting and come away with something I want to play in that context and scope. About You:
1. What do you want to be called? Lore, or Justin
2. Real Life Age / Location? 40, Florida, USA
3. Experience with D&D5e and Roll20? I have been playing D&D since 1988, played every edition extensively, GM'd every edition extensively, but 5e is the edition I've had the least experience with so far. I've run a few sessions, and played in a few sessions. I haven't had much time to game over the last few years as me and my wife have had 4 kids in 4 years. lol this is why I'm on roll20 now, trying it out because its likely the only way I will be able to find a game I can play in.
4. Do you have a a suitable microphone and headset? Indeed I do.
5. Do you have a capable computer, maps can be large and detailed and quite taxing on your pc.? Sure do.
6. Do you have a reliable internet connection? Indeed.
About your Character:
1. Name: ?
2. Class: I'm leaning towards a warrior or rogue of some sort at this early stage
3. Race: I'm leaning towards human
4. Alignment: possibly neutral good
5. Character Goal: ?
6. Thumbnail Background: ? Again, I am all about writing fleshed out backgrounds, giving my character depth, realness, believability, personality, etc. But I don't want to invest time and effort before knowing if I'm in or not. I don't really make characters and then have them sit around waiting for a game to play in, because every DM handles a plethora of things differently, and I approach character creation from a perspective of "how can I fit well into what the GM's doing?". If, on some off chance, you're specifically withholding information about the game as that's part of the concept of the type of game you're running, and you want the players to specifically be making characters in the dark as part of the nature of the campaign, I can come up with something of course, but I'm just trying to avoid wasting my own time, as I've made a few characters for 'applications' for games and days and days later not even gotten so much as a response, so I'm a little wary. Looking forward to hearing back from you.
