My husband and I absolutely adore Final Fantasy XIV and we love tabletop role-playing. My husband recently had this thought of running a sort of homebrew campaign set before, during, and after the (Warrior of Light) WoL's story, running parallel to the MSQ but never directly crossing paths with the WoL. The world would be the same, but adventures and such would take place in custom non-canon locations he'd make up, like a set of smugglers tunnels running under Ul'dah or inside an imperial train station, that kind of thing. He's most familiar with Pathfinder, and the wide range of classes would mean we can put together something resembling your XIV class of choice, with some liberties taken to ensure fun over flavor. The reason we're looking for people with no experience is because he's never done something like this before and there may be some growing pains and he'd rather not be judged as harshly by someone who has played with a veteran DM. Plus, he thinks it'd be a fun way to introduce new folks to tabletop role-playing. Sessions would be done in roll20, and like normal tabletop, he'd still be describing locations and setting the scenes, although you're welcome to idle in a zone of your choosing if it helps give you a sense of atmosphere. Is this something anyone would potentially be interested in?
