Beginning Player would like noob friendly game to learn how to play.

Hey everyone, I am a new player that would like to participate in a game. I am new to the whole game of D&D and would need a place to start with people. I can play on pacific time after 6pm, and on weekends all day. Please let me know if any groups would be open to have me join them. I am able to make a paid account if need be, but I would first like to play a free game to see if this is *right* for me. Thanks in advance!
Richard, I have a new player friendly game taking place Wednesday 7pm MST/PT. You will not need to spend any money to play in it.
7pm PT is pacific time?
I'm actually getting together a game specifically for new players if you're interested. https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/7358814/lfp-dnd-5e-dm-looking-to-give-new-players-their-first-campaign
I am running Mazes & Minotaurs , a free RPG based on the idea of role-playing emerging from ancient world miniatures war-gaming instead of medieval miniatures war-gaming. The result is an old-school D&Dish rules set with a classical base to the chaotic blend of various flavors. It's simpler than modern D&D, so not a bad intro to the hobby (it is also free, which makes it a cheap intro). The current adventuring is forest exploration. A variety of pre-generated characters will be available, with just enough background to provide a motive for being there. If you keep playing (and the character survives), you can develop additional background and character as we go along. If this sounds like something you might be interested, the game is to be found at: https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/100381/time-of-heroes-original-mazes-and-minotaurs We start play on Sundays at 10 a.m. (Pacific... which is also my time zone).
