Brand new Player looking to play DnD, I think (5E)

Im brand new to this so I will need significant help. Ive been researching so I can better understand what is going on. Ive also done research on the characters i would like to use if possible. The first would be a Warforged Juggernaut with a Maul. And the second would be a DragonBorne Pirate or Paladin. I appreciate the help and ask that you be patient because I will probably ask dumb questions.

Hey, I am new as well.  I picked up the starter kit and am thinking of finding a group of other people new to the game.   We can run the "Lost Mine of Phandelver".  I am not too sure how to use the Roll20 app but will give it an honest shot.    It might be too early to go with the classes you picked but we could learn the mechanics and stuff together if youre interested.
