Hey all, I'm starting up a new campaign with the session 0 this Saturday the 20th. The setting is a homebrew points of light style world, with a focus on forging relationships in the sanctuaries of towns before venturing out into the unknown dangers of the wilds. The PCs will begin as common folk, fleeing disaster. You'll gather what remains, and set out for safety, picking up new skills along the way. This game will have a somewhat stronger emphasis on survival than the default 5e experience, but systems have been streamlined to keep this from being Bookkeeping the RPG ™ . The most drastic change is that long rests will now take 1 week. This downtime will be spent in towns or places of safety, where PCs can establish a new home and build relationships with other characters. Short rests still only take 1 hour, but a rest taken overnight allows for some activities such as cooking, mending armor, and telling tales around the fire that can help keep the party in fighting shape between long rests. If this sounds interesting to you, then check out the LFG listing here: https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/156998/the-strathmoor-vale I'm happy to answer questions in the faq thread there and I'll be reading through any and all applications!
