Full House For the Next Game

It looks like there will be six players total for next Tuesday's game.  This will be very interesting. For the new players: Please test your audio equipment using Google Hangouts before the game Character generation takes place at the start of the game The rules will be available during the game and are the 1981 rule set The campaign takes place in my own fictional universe not the 3rd Imperium Set goals for your character and be proactive - learning about the universe will help you achieve goals Not every game session is a death match but characters can and do die (sometimes in incredibly comical ways) Spend time on the campaign Wiki it is a great resource especially for new players Spend time reviewing the game handouts which are found by launching the game  Longevity in the game is the secret to developing a kick-ass character It really helps to take notes during the game Buy a Vacc Suit even if you don't have Vacc Suit skill Add an image to your Roll20 profile In a pinch, a frying pan beats a sub-machine gun
Don't forget space Marines are no match for cloth armor and a blade
Thanks for the tips, and also letting me join.
I would also like to know in your opinion what the biggest changes are from 2nd edition mongoose to Original Traveller.
I actually do not know the rules for Mongoose traveller very well.  But do not let the lack of having, or read the rules for classic Traveller cause you any angst.  The rules are simple and stream lined.  What I do know about Mongoose is that have moved the game more towards a skills based game play, which is fine, but in this campaign it's what you do not what you 'can' do that matters.  For example, one new player with only Computer-1 (and some help from an NPC) was able to hack into a high class hotel reservation system and assist the other players in gaining access to locked rooms throughout the complex.  (The current players in this game are truly top notch!)
Ok sounds good, excited to play on Tuesday!
The big thing I would mention to a new CT player coming from Mong  is that once you muster out of a service you cannot attempt to enter another career, your CC is simply over. Therefore, it is easy to end up with a character who has as little as one term in a single career with as few as two skills and a single mustering out bonus.
I got that. Mustered out with TAS tho so it was worth
Just ran a session of MgT2 on Saturday. Biggest difference is char gen. You can get a character built in CT in as little as five minutes if you know what you are doing. The other difference is the way combat works. CT seems to have many more modifiers for distance, weapon and armor combos than Mongoose. You can pick up Starter Traveller for free on drive-thru rpg to get a quick CT rules intro.
Full house?  ;)
PS - I'm teasing but when you have room I'd like to play again.  I doubt the gladiator is alive (or even the same guy on the ridiculous chance he lives). So I would build-a-target all over again :D  But only when you have room.  I'm not here to dilute the story or replace someone. But I'm not above participating in "Remember When.." stories and making the newbies impressed and jealous of my brief but bright history ;)
Actually he might be alive! Unfortunately all he previous co-workers are dead save Thea and Jango. It'd be great to have you back! We've reminisced quite a bit about Ser Churchgate

Jay, jump in at any time!.  For you the house is never full.  Bjorn, your gladiator is alive if you wish to continue playing him or roll up a character.  You're a great player and I'd love to have you back in my game.
Thank you, sir. Very kind words  I might just pop in, if not this week, next week for sure. I think I'll rul someone up since Bjorn has some memories I don't.  :)
Looking forward to having you back in the game.  You might wish to start reviewing a few of the many game handouts.  Specifically, take a look at the handouts for various Star Systems and Equipment.  I'm certain Dylan and Alex will fill you in on important topics once you have either joined as Bjorn or rolled up a new character.  The rest of the group is made up of three new players who  demonstrate good common sense.  Chris is a relatively new player to the campaign but he has impressed me as a solid player.  Ezra and Garret have only been in the game for two sessions but are already making an impact.
