Debating breaking change to V5 character sheet.

Hey, I was looking to make a change to the V5 character sheet that may break some games and I thought I would bring up the conversation first and how to go about it. What I intend to do is add a simple NPC section in the Coterie area. Enabling the holding of simple characters. The break would be to revert the character attributes from 7 to 5. I initially made it 7 because when scouring the book, some characters had 7 in specific stat lines (see the fae). This would since be covered by the new NPC section. A couple people requested the reduction back to 5, as it made some of their players feel  less powerful, having dots they couldn't obtain. Should I leave it as is or do you think it will be ok to do? I was thinking of putting an announcement on the sheet itself (at the top of the front page), giving people a week or two's warning before the change occurs, along with  a link for people to ping me, if anyone wanted to protest. Is this a good idea? Thanks for any response.

I dont use the sheet, but as always, I have an opinion! (Note: your subject title is ambiguous, V5 of what?) I dont see why the two questions are related, they seem independent. You can add an NPC section, and / or change the stats range.  Personally, for the stats, I'd recommend a config setting, and have the 5 or 7 setting as a switchable setting. If this is vampire/world of darkness, etc, some campaigns do have players getting stat scores above 5, so having the option is a good idea.

One option would be to make it optional to hide the last 2 dots, pretty sure it could be fairly easy to make with a on/off setting that could be left in the menu, and leave the NPC with however many you intended. EDIT: GiGs great minds thinks alike amirite?

That's a really good idea and means I don't instigate a breaking change (which I really wanted to avoid) . Thank you. I'll make the view of the other stats togglable. Apologies about the ambiguity. Too used to the term. V5 is Vampire the masquerade 5th. The new system is designed to not have people go above 5 but it was added as some non vamp and non human NPC's had those stats. It felt weird them being that high, but I put in the extra values initially to deal with it. I've since got feedback asking it to be reduced from a number of people.  The hiding solution really fixes the issue.
