Gifs Lagging My game

Hello. I just bought The Weather Overlay (animated) pack so I could have weather effects on my maps, but when I use them it lags the game almost to a stop. I generally use Large Maps (Still Under 100) but my players are experiencing lag spikes and I am forced to delete them. Someone else having an issue with it?

Hello, I have experienced about the same issue. But mainly when solo editing maps, with players, gif seem to be working okay. Still I have kept the gif small since.
Hi Danny, have you tried turning Hardware Acceleration on or off in your browser?
No I haven’t tried that. Should I? I will give it a try an see if it helps

Hi Danny C. Sorry to hear you're having performance issues. A few quick tips can be found here: https://wiki.roll20.net/Optimizing_Roll20_Performance Also ensuring you're on Chrome is a great bet too. We're working on performance optimization on our end as much as possible, but very large maps and animations can certainly cause some machines/browsers to slow down. If you ever need to initiate a return for such issues, please reach out to team@roll20.net and let them know your situation. Thanks so much :)
I have also had problems and I'm not a computer guy but what has worked a little for me and my players is clearing your internet cache (history) habitually every 30 minutes. LOVE THESE NEW EFFECTS!
Danny C. said: No I haven’t tried that. Should I? I will give it a try an see if it helps Sorry for the late reply, you have of course tested it already, but I found that turning acceleration off made for a great improvement for myself. One of my players however claim that he have better functionality with it turned on. :)
