Year 109 P.A. (Post Apocalypse) - Earth  Prime Location:  Castle Refuge Time of Year:  Spring Trust is an intangible thing yet one of the most precious commodities one can acquire. After two mapping expeditions Rex called us down to the preferred hangout of the mercs or Irregulars of Castle Refuge - Embrace. It may be because for those with no defined allegiance everyone still wants to be accepted somewhere.I'm fairly certain the bar is a front for the castle to keep tabs on such folk in the illusion of a relaxed, socially-friendly atmosphere. Before I digress to far let me get back to Rex and my heavy handed opener.   Rex had decided he liked to work with us enough to lay down roots here. He bought a home where construction had already begun! What's more is he invited us to come and live together as a motley family/group/commune of sorts. Labels aside, he had decided to trust us and that can be a huge leap for people. One that should be reward if at all possible. I offered to help cover the cost, but the amount of credits he's come into must have been considerable to the item I sold to Velma's brother. That blade wasn't really my style anyway, better suited to an Aerihman Clan Prince like him. Anyways, I offered to purchase the group a team vehicle and Turag had recently become re-acquainted with an Elf from Stormspire called Lorraine. She was a builder of Techno-Wizard vehicles. From the look of her operation she had both skill and talent. What she needed was backing and if she could make a deal selling a bigger vehicle then I might have found a business venture I'd be interested in becoming a partner of. Certainly this bears further investigation. I offered to pay for a Techno Wizard or TW Zone Ranger ATV, which is a modified Mountaineer ATV. These are huge transports and would suit our group well. When Lorraine saw my cred stick as I paid for the vehicle and all the modifications in advance her mood softened a bit to the group. I imagine there are quite a few groups / individuals that come around begging for handouts or discounts that don't make sustaining her business tenable. Not to disparage those people, for I remember my time as a field medic on Copernicus-5 when the Free World Council was trying to stop a Kreeghor expedition force from assuming control over the planet. Which brings me to ThorFrid, I wonder if I should tell her I know of a world her chosen "Gods" resides in the United Worlds of Warlock? Note to self don't wear purple around her. She has a mental trigger to certain color(s)? I'll need to keep an eye on her to monitor her condition so I can help treat her as long as she has those implants in her head. Perhaps with enough data I can workout specs with Turag for TW enhancements to let her be more in control of her faculties. Why a Cyber-Knight, much less one of their vaunted Judge corp, would hang with us is beyond me but Ser Keegan is a boisterous son of a gun as the phrase is used here. I think he'll handle the front lines or guard me if I have to run in and save someone. Jad and I seem to have the least in common. He strikes me as touched but he could also be perpetually drunk, verdict is out there. I love judge jokes ha! Velma, in Rex's new house we share adjoining, but separate rooms. She is a terrifying sight to behold in a fight, and the fact she had only been laid low in a 6 vs 1 fight speaks volumes. Now she's going on about my healing skills bringing Jad back from the brink of death. Healing and shielding Turag so he could continue working during our most recent outing. What no seems to believe or comprehend is my skills I learned back on Alexandria were novice compared to the Masters I knew there.
Good luck Doctor, trying to "fix" ThorFrid.  See what happens if you ask about removing the rods.
The UWW is a long way away from this podunk.....
