Best Darkvision Settings

Curious to know what everyone has found to be the best set up for 5e Darkvision on tokens. The suggestion here makes perfect sense but I've never seen it suggested before.

The multiplier may have worked that way at one point (I didn't use it), but it is currently doubling the size of light sources. Check #16 in this post. https://app.roll20.net/forum/permalink/7442110/ You can take a look at a recent discussion of darkvision settings (with a particular regards to making it work with the broken state of AFoW and DL) here. https://app.roll20.net/forum/permalink/7447986/
I usually just keep my players sight at 60 Dark and dims at 1 foot and change it depending on the light of the map.

I'm more looking for ideal Darkvision settings once those issues have been fixed, though it may be too early to make such suggestions considering how broken AFOW is currently. As pointed out in the Reddit post I linked, the 60/0 setting that gets suggested the most only grants vision of 60ft which isn't how Darkvisions works. Just wondering if there's a better way.

Actually, that is a superseded reading of the darkvision rules. Later editions have clarified that darkvision only works at all within the given range, to keep in agreement with the monster manual definition. I wouldn't normally bring up a rules citation for a system, but since this directly relates to a setting in Roll20 (and its published 5e modules) here is the errata : “Within a specified range, a creature with darkvision can see in dim light as if it were bright light and in darkness as if it were dim light, so areas of darkness are only lightly obscured as far as that creature is concerned.” So the RAW setting would be 60/0, but adjusted to your personal level of utility.
Ah, ok. That makes sense then. Thanks.
I don't know why this works, but 75/-5 seems to create the perfect 60 foot radius of dim light for me.

I do 60/0. I'm not sure what -5 would mean in this context (a negative distance is a weird concept and typically wouldn't be valid for a distance metric).

I haven't messed with it recently, so recent tinkering with vision stuff may have changed this behavior. In past experience, setting the start to dim light as a negative number resulted in "dimmer" dim light.

Bright to dim is a gradient. Starting it at a negative number starts the gradation earlier, so that the brightest light that appears is already less than bright. This is a sample comparison image created by the Aaron on this incredibly useful page .
