Please read all of this before doing, saying, thinking anything: This is an LFP or LFG FREE game. I play games to have fun, not to make a living. If you want to pay for your fun, consider making a donation to charity. LFP: I have ran a few CP2020 games in the past. I am willing to run another. My free times are actually quite sporadic, with First and Fourth Monday evenings being open, and Thursday evenings also being open. I am always on call though, so my free time definitely varies. Setting? Once I vet players, we will discuss what you want to play. Your options are Booster/Poser Gangers, Corpos, Mercenaries, Nomads. Netrunners are always NPCs due to Netrunning slowing the game down, hard. Also due to my real life schedule, this may be a few missions, or a few months of game. You'll get to play, but the how long is really open-ended. In the fall, Monday evenings will no longer be playable for me. Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays are also open for me, and game frequency will be discussed prior to character generation. Max of 4 players will be chosen. Though I do try to make a game fun for everyone, keep politics, political-shenanigans, and weird social behaviors out, unless it fits into the CP2020 world. I play games to get away from the real world and all the (for lack of a better term) dumbassery. LFG: I am willing to not run a game and play one, if you'd like to try your hand at running one. I have a significant amount of CP2020 experience and am great at helping new players understand the game mechanics, grit, and world setting. Playing a game actually works better for the nature of my work, but again, it's all up to who wants to do what. Hybrid: There's also a third option. I start a game, build a setting, and a player who has little CP2020 experience takes over as referee at some point after we start. This is perfect for players who have very little to no storytelling experience, or none in the CP2020 world, and would like to start a game like this. With all of the CP2077 hype, I should clarify what 2020 is for those interested: Cyberpunk 2020 is a game where the players are the absolute bottom of the world hierarchy. They barely have anything to their name, the world punishes them daily, and life is always hard. The world is flashy, full of new technology and lunatics trying to make a violent name for themselves. Corporations run the world, and governments are fragmented. The game itself is Bladerunner on meth, where combat has the very real potential to kill your character, and combat is very lethal. A 9mm handgun does 2D6+1 damage. Your average unarmored person will take one shot to the chest for 8 (average) damage, and begin the process of actually dying (making an immediate death save, and having major torso wounds). If they get shot in the head, I hope they had a good life insurance package. Players in this game are trying to survive, whether that be survive the streets, or survive the corporate warfare they've been tossed into. 9-5 jobs don't pay the bills, so many people find other, less-than-legal ways to stay afloat. This is not a game for those with soft -hearts and weak stomachs- there are guns, there is violence (physical and sexual), there is poverty, there is slavery, and there is addiction. This is M for Mature. There will be moral and ethical dilemmas. There usually is not a right answer to these dilemmas, either. 2020 does a lot of things right. Combat is quick and dirty. Players and plot is really well done. But there is room for improvement: Netrunning is slow and tedious. Empathy loss doesn't make sense in a lot of the cases for cyberwear. Martial arts are clunky. Roles are far too rigid. Each role can substitute 3 skills out for class skills. Also, special abilities can be made to fit into the game style. Authority in a gangster game, for example, means you're a lieutenant in that gang and you can push around businesses and members to give you what you want in your territory. The rigid class choices don't always make sense. Some cyberwear is totally broken (skinweave I'm looking at you). These are all things I try to address through minor house rules. Almost everything else will be taken from the books (core or supplemental), or from some third party supplemental material. Want in? Shoot me a message. In that message, tell me when you can play, what type of character do you want to be (no need to pick a role yet, there are more roles than just the source book offers), what gaming experience you have, what type of game you'd like to play (and type you wouldn't enjoy at all), and anything else pertinent to a CP2020 game. I don't need a book, but precise and honest answers are appreciated. If you're interested in running the game, include that as well.
