[LFP] [RemiNES] Captain N: The Game Master!

Looking to do a cool, retro-styled game with this book I bought the other day called RemiNES . Like the name implies, it's made to have NES (Nintendo Entertainment System, for you younger folk) aesthetics all over the place! With power ups, extra lives, etc etc. So the game I'm going for is kind of like Captain N! Or... Super Smash Brothers. A big, 8 bit video game crossover. Where you'll wander through video land and stop the wicked Mother Brain's schemes for world domination. The system of RemiNES is actually pretty easy, we can get through the character creation lickity split; there's only 3 steps to it. Y'see... You pick your stats , then two quirks , and finally, two specialties .(Items basically, to start with.) What's your role? Well, that's up to you. I plan to meld the campaign around the players, and you can be anything. A canon, video game character. Or your own (but from their respective world), like say, an angel from Angel Land (Kid Icarus), a Toad from the Mushroom Kingdom (Super Mario Bros.), etc. etc. Good or evil, it's up to you. Anyway, if you're interested, reply here or in a PM and I'll be happy to tend to anything you want to know.

Truth be told, I never knew this system existed at all until you mentioned it here in this topic. I'm game for trying it out. Personally, I would prefer if we were able to use canon characters (Not necessarily from Captain N specifically but video games in general). I wouldn't even mind if you wanted to limit it to games that came out in the 80s and 90s to keep the retro aspect. I'd also like a hero game rather than a villain game but I'm willing to concede on these points if need be. I do have a game character in mind that I would like to attempt to build in this system. I think it would it also be best if you mentioned some time zones so we had a clear idea when you were free to run it. In my case, I'm EST and my Friday and Monday evenings are full. Tuesdays are usually free the entire day but the rest of the weekday is not except evenings. Satarday afternoons and Sunday mornings are usually busy but the rest of time is open.
Ah ah~ I'd prefer to discuss the matter of timezones with the players. Since I'm pretty much free any day that isn't Monday, my weeks are flexible. Good call though. I'll see if I can.. think of a premise. So outta curiosity, what character would  you choose? Since you're the first to seem to take interest, I'd garner you could pick whatever you like, first come first serve. While I prefer something retro, I may  allow something more modern if given reason. (Like, Rosalina since she has that 8-bit Mario Maker sprite, for example!)

My first choice would be Yuko Asou from the Valis series. Yes, I'm going pretty obscure here. It was released on Japanese PC systems back in the 80s before going to the Sega Megadrive and finally the Super Nintendo before the parent company went belly up after trying to "re-imagine" the series as a less than tasteful visual novel. Technically speaking, she is a 16-bit character rather than an 8-bit one. The games were mostly side-scrolling action games with a magical girl fighting demons/monsters motif. For the "8-bit or Bust!" option, I would probably lean towards Samus from Metroid. I assume no explanation is needed.
Ohh, I can't say I'm too familiar with it. But I will allow it~! Possibly even both if you so seek. (Depending on the players we can get.) Anyway, my Tuesdays are blank, empty, so I think we can work with that too. How about around 2PM?
I don't mind the time but you should make sure to check the timezone. After all, 2 pm EST and 2 pm GMT are completely different.
Oh gee, I meant 2PM EST. Sorrymasen!  Since you said you were there EST and all!
