Hello! My name is Joe, and I'm a relatively new DM/D&D player of about 9 months or so. I am looking for another high-energy, performance-based, presentation-inclined, people-person to run a game with. I've been a part of a Co-DM'ed game before, and found it to be a great experience. Presenting new ideas, and building upon existing ideas is so much more fun when you're not doing it alone. A better experience was provided to the players, yet neither of us felt like we did much at all!
I'm thinking of a 2-4 hour, weekly or bi-monthly game of limited duration, using roll20 as a shared surface for handouts, maps, etc, & using Skype as the preferred means of in-game communication. The edition under consideration would be D&D Next, for its largely unfinished state, & reasonable amount of compatibility with previous edition's resources (i.e. monsters, traps, interesting treasure, etc.) Though I might be open to using OD&D, 1e, or 2e.
Why I need you:
Ideas, situations, settings, high energy attitude, expected DM-brutality, npc voices, accents (especially bad ones), in-game organization, and general front-end, immersion-encouraging presentation.
Why you need me:
Ideas, situations, settings, writing, flavor-text, audio-visual aids, improvisation within the established lore, out-of-game organization, and general behind-the-scenes action.
I feel there's a great game trying its hardest to escape my brain, waiting for me to find a way to compensate for my lack of in-game presentation. If the idea of showing up with a minimum of preparation, being the center of attention, and watching a story develop appeals to you; we may be of use to each other!
