You've encountered them, haven't you? The atypical phenomena of our world I mean.   People with powers beyond natural description. Monsters that defy every normal convention we seek to give them. Perhaps you've even seen a world beyond our own. In any case, this makes you my problem. My codename is Agent D.M but my friends know me as Doug Mandle, an agent of the AM Archives. We take in those that have been altered by this atypical phenomenon and treat them as such. You no longer have the life you had previously and will be kept under strict watch. No matter how normal your life may have been, it is going to get weird. Until you serve your time here at the AM Archives you are no longer humans as the rest of the world sees you.  Your atypical phenomena that take orders from us.  We will send your team out on missions across the states in order to contain and research these beings. After one year of service to us, your lives shall return to normal. Please be aware that this is not an option. You will become normal again. I'm looking for a maximum of 5 people to undergo a slightly darker adventure than most. In this story, your characters have encountered something horrific or undergone some type of change that makes you atypical. This government agency, The AM have forcefully taken you out of your life to go and fight monsters. Once you have done a year of service (and or die) you will be able to be set free and return to your normal life. For this game, we have the normal playbooks for Monster of The Week including 4 new playbooks that were released such as: The Gumshoe: The supernatural is just another case for this private eye to solve. A tough, ethical charmer, this shamus is in the fictional tradition that stretches from classic noir characters like Sam Spade and Philip Marlowe to the modern Jessica Jones and Lisbeth Salander. The Hex:  A witch motivated by the pursuit of forbidden power, using magic more readily—and more recklessly—than other hunters. E.g. Willow during season six of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The Pararomantic:  A hunter with a loving—but difficult— relationship with a supernatural being. Understands the monster's intentions and can earn their trust, but puts their own heart, and even mortality, at risk. E.g. Elena Gilbert from The Vampire Diaries, Belle from Beauty and the Beast. The Searcher:  After an encounter with weirdness, they dedicated their life to investigating the unexplained. Very strong investigator, especially at working out what sort of thing is going on. Not really a fighter, but has some defensive options. E.g. Roy Neary in Close Encounters of the Third Kind, or (historically) Charles Fort. So if you think you want something a little darker in your roleplaying repertoire go ahead and apply now in my player applications! The system is super easy to learn and my games are also LGBTQ friendly. While the game itself is darker than normal I try to keep it friendly and light around my table. It will take place weekly on Tuesday nights at 7:30PM EST.
