Inexpensive laptop/Chromebook?...

Not sure if this is the right Forum topic to put this under, but I  googled a bit and couldn’t find any recent threads on this topic. I’m looking for an inexpensive option to DM games while also running Hangouts (on a second monitor.) I currently use a MacBook Pro, but it’s getting old so I’d like something quicker. So what, in your opinion, would be the least expensive/best machine (can be PC, Chromebook, etc.) for that these days?...

I use a Chromebook for basic web browsing. It's fine for casually working on a game or testing pages and macros and such. I would not run a game on it, however. Maybe as a player, but not as a GM. I will often get the red box of death towards the beginning of a session, and If I open more than a couple of tabs, there's a good chance depending on the size of the game, that the tab might force a reload. From what I understand, there isn't a tremendous difference in performance between Chromebooks. A Chromebook Pro might be different, but then you are paying close to laptop prices.
