Template Macros return 'unrecognized expression', locking chat for all users

One of my players was testing out some template macros for various effects until he couldn't post anymore. I checked in and I was seeing the same problem. There's a series of Templates that the player was testing, and at some point he put one in and they failed to output any more messages to the chat. Once I send a message, the error repeats, and all the templates collapse into purple lines. The message I send never appears. The log shows that a message is made, but there are no network requests that go out either. I can clear the current chat log, but after posting it all comes back. If I try to load the entire chat log, sometimes the application hangs. Other times it opens and the entire log will display, including the new messages. I'm going to make a new game and attempt to recreate the error. Below are screen shots of the error. The error Chat Example, upon loading game Chat Example, after sending message Properly caught error in the chat log. I was able to make the chat usable again by passing in enough messages that the offending message is not loaded into the main chat buffer. The offending message is a template roll that looks like it has errors in it/not set up properly. I will try and get the exact message sent (though I guess you guys can scrub through the DB to get it as well). This is from a thread I deleted on accident; sorry for the double post.

It might be helpful to post the macros your player was trying (if they are still available), and the character sheet you are using (because that determines which templates are available).

For future troubleshooting, the game's creator/gm can resolve this issue by clearing the chat archive which is available from the game's splash screen. Note this is NOT the clear current history available in game.

Sadly, the player doesn't have the macro available. It was likely one that wasn't working properly and they had worked past to fix it and the version that caused the problem (the Constitution Save in the last pic) is no longer available. To my knowledge, only one player was using sheets, and it was not this user in question. The sheets that are made available are the base Roll20 Pathfinder sheets. Thanks for pointing me to that button! I know I'll be sure to use it in the future if I want to repurpose a game. For now, I'll be leaving the log alone to make sure the devs can scrounge through it and see what went wrong. Unhandled errors can be rather tricky sometimes!
Hello Rathizard, I am sorry to hear that you have encountered this issue with the Chat Log. Sometimes the Chat Archive can become corrupt, causing issues with macros and templates, and even general posting and die rolling. A game's Creator is often able to fix issues with their Text Chat by  clearing the Chat Archive  (note: not  clearing your current Chat Log ). A GM might want to copy/back up the Chat Archive before the Creator clears it. So, if you are wanting to resolve this issue, you will need to clear the Chat Archive.  Best.
Alright. As long as you are aware of the issue can are trying to fix it. This can be closed as I already have a solution for my game.
