A  long time ago in a galaxy far, far away... With the destruction of most of the core worlds of the New Republic at the hands of Starkiller Base and the subsequent destruction of Starkiller Base and a substantive portion of her supporting naval assets at the hands of The Resistance, the galaxy is in a state of turmoil. Power vacuums have rippled through thousands of systems, the voids often filled by men and women with terrifying capacities for violence and cruelty. In the Kawl system, the rise of a self-appointed Lady of the Sith - Darth Remoir - is of particular concern. Declaring a grand crusade, she has seized control of most of the system's worlds, laying waste to imperialist, rebel and smuggler alike that has stood in her path. Rumor swirls of an ancient weapon of horrifying power that Remoir seeks, hidden somewhere in one of Kawl's many dark corners... Alone, this far into the Outer Rim, no one organization has the presence necessary to oppose this nascent threat before it can mature into something much worse. Working together, however, the fragmented forces of the great powers in this sector might be able to stop the Lady of the Sith before she can find what she is looking for. Welcome to A Narrative X-Wing 2.0 Campaign! This is a cooperative role-playing campaign using some home brewed rules for stringing individual missions into a cohesive campaign where you will be challenged to navigate delicate diplomatic situations as much as you'll be challenged to navigate starfighter dogfights. You'll play as the leader of a splinter cell within a faction of your choosing (Rebel Alliance, Resistance, Galactic Empire, Separatist Alliance, First Order, Scum and Villainy or Galactic Republic) that is trying to piece together an elite fighting force to take out a newly arisen Sith that, if left unchecked, could threaten the entire galaxy. Over the course of the campaign, you'll have to work your up from older fighter designs piloted by rookies to the latest generation of vehicles piloted by elite veterans and, perhaps, even figures of legend. I'd like to start with just 2-3 players to see what the mission time looks like. If we get onto and off of the combat zone in good time, I'll consider adding a 4th player slot. Schedule & Tools The game will be run every Sunday. We'll be starting at 8:00 - 9:00 GMT, with the campaign planned to launch on July 21st. You'll need Discord, Roll20 and we'll either be using Vassal or TableTop Simulator (depending on which players are most comfortable with) to help run the game. Ground Rules Fly casual! Please respect other players and your host. Don't get too bent out of shape when rules errors happen, and please don't do things like fortress. Please keep focused on the game until the session is over. I appreciate that not everyone is equally engaged during every session (and this is probably less of a problem when playing online), but distracted players take other people out of the experience & can ruin their fun. If you're not feeling engaged on a regular basis, we can talk about how to improve your experience & get you more involved. Pay to Play & GM Experience I'm hoping to be able to build a career out of this, and that means I do charge for my GMing services. The cost is $12 per month per player, and that will get you at least four 3+ hours sessions (in a group of 4 players) as well as support in building / developing your character. Sessions will include ambient music, maps & sandbox-style freedom of movement. Payment must be made up front. I'll take either PayPal or an eTransfer (though would encourage use of the former for the sake of your protection). A full refund will be available to you for your first session if you do not feel the experience was worth your money. I've been GMing games on and off for most of my adult life, and probably put the most hours into 4E D&D (my favorite edition, no matter its unpopularity). I've GM'd GURPS, a bit of Traveller, both traditional & homebrew Rifts & TMNT, and for a little while got really into Legend of the Five Rings. I'm a huge Critical Role fanboy, for better or worse. I've run a successful paid Savage Rifts campaign for a few months now, and a just starting a paid 5E campaign this coming weekend. If you'd like testimonials from my current players, feel free to PM me and I'll see if I can connect you with them to hear their thoughts. Find the game here!
