Name Brett / Tobias Seasworn Age 34 What race you want to play Human What class Cleric of the Tempest Domain A little a bit about the person you wanna play Tobias is a young human man with stoic green eyes and a handsome, but stern face that never seems to smile. Almond hued hair is combed back neatly. He dons a blue-hued chainmail with a tabard embroidered with elaborate blue and white designs depicting calm ocean waves and rays of light. Tobias is not a jovial sort, despite his dress. And if you look closely, you can see many lines of scars on the inside of his hands, seemingly self-inflicted. He has a particular distrust and dislike of elves, due to his history. If you have a image of them have that too but not needed on here https://i.imgur.com/00LXL5G.jpg Backstory ideas Tobias was an ordinary boy from a small mining town born to peasant parents. His town was under the control of a cruel Elf lord named Alkane who saw humans as a lesser species. He was oppressive in the best of times, overtaxing the peasantry and sending soldiers to "keep the peace", which mostly involved beatings, rape, and even murder if anyone dared to stand up to them. Tobias lived in constant fear. Then, there was a drought. As crops and resources became scarce, Lord Alkane amassed all of his forces and even drafted the peasants to fight for him, seeing them as expendable troops for the front lines. He was drafted into military service at age 14 in order to fight on behalf of a Lord Alkane. Tobias was forced to perform all kinds of awful acts on the commands of his Elven superiors, all racists against humans in the same way Alkane was. They forced them into killing children his own age or younger as they mostly razed and looted small towns and hamlets like his. Tobias was heavily traumatized by this, and even considered suicide. But, he couldn't do it...and so, he marched on, haunted and wracked with guilt for the things that he had done. Although he was not brought up to be religious, he began to silently pray at night for release and redemption for what he had done. Eventually their warpath led them across a body of water, and so they boarded a few ships and set sail. Here, Tobias saw his opportunity to escape his hellish existence. He snuck out on deck in the dead of night, managing to escape detection. He gazed up at the starry night sky and as his dying wish, he prayed for the deliverance of his friends and neighbors from this horrible tyrant. With one final breath, Tobias leapt into the water and let himself sink. Right as he landed in the water, a violent storm burst into life with no warning. It was hard to tell from beneath the surface as Tobias sunk, but the winds and rain were howling and battering the ships. So hard in fact that they washed several of the corrupt officers who were on deck overboard. Burdened by their armor, they sunk and drowned. Tobias had a vision as he slowly lost consciousness and began to drown...he saw the storm inside his mind. The rain and wind blew violently around him, and he could have sworn he saw the shape of a face in the raindrops as lightning crashed down around him. The face seemed to speak then, and he heard a voice inside his mind. It said, "Blood for blood, your water for mine". As he heard these words, he clenched his fists and saw blood streaming from his palms as if from deep cuts. He watched his blood intermingling with the sea water, slowly floating and twisting around in the water. He watched, hypnotized...and he understood. The other slave soldiers on board were safe below deck and once most of the officers were knocked off and drowning, the storm suddenly ended as quickly as it had begun. Tobias, for his part, suddenly felt himself rising quickly to the surface. He found himself able to float as easily as if he weighed nothing. The water he had swallowed and breathed in came out of his body in a fit of coughs. The waters were as calm as when he dove in, and he was able to easily swim to the side of the boat and grab hold of a rigging rope that had fallen into the water during the storm. The few officers who were below deck tried to keep control, but when they learned that they were vastly outnumbered, the slave soldiers threw the remaining officers overboard. Tobias called out and was quickly pulled to safety. He said nothing of what he had experienced to the others. "It's a miracle!" they cried, "We're free!". They laughed and cheered. Tobias only peered overboard at the endless ocean. "And so the pact is made," he whispered. Tobias and his friends took control of the ships and sailed back to their homeland, where they used their numbers to overthrow Lord Alkane and execute him. As their home became peaceful at last, Tobias never forgot that he owed his life and victory over Alkane to that nameless God at sea that saved his life and killed their captors. He trained to become a Cleric, and now he lives to seek redemption for the atrocities he helped commit, and purge evil from the land. What game you would like to join Tuesday game Discord Ecto#5738
