Experience Points

Hi, let me know if there's a better forum for this. In roll20, are experience points automatically added to your character sheet when you defeat monsters, get through encounters, etc? Confused on how that aspect works. If it does, will roll20 recognize your at a new level and level you up or is that done manually? Thanks!

There might be some scripts to do that, but it would be highly dependent on which character sheet and what system you are playing.  Roll20, out of the box, doesn't have that sort of automation, but it can be built on top of the API.
Gotcha. Thanks for the help. This would be for D&D 5e, should of said that from the get go. I program but not familiar enough with the rules to even attempt anything with the API. How to people usually approach experience points/leveling up in roll20 for d&d? Thanks again.

The games I've been in do it manually, GM gives out the numbers, players update their sheets, etc. There are some scripts for helping GMs track experience and divide it up, and some character sheets provide functionality to help with leveling.
Sounds good, just got to keep digging around. Thanks!
