As the title states, we are looking for a DM to run a long-term homebrew campaign in D&D5e on Thursday evenings at 8:00pm CST. We use Roll20 for play and Discord for Chat (We have our own small tabletop community discord). We would prefer the use of webcams in Roll20 to give everyone a better connection akin to tabletop games; however, it is not a deal breaker by any means. If you need help on the admin side and/or recruitment, we can definitely handle that as well. We currently have a full group of 5 of us. We had a game scheduled and ready to go and the DM ghosted out on us the day of the first session. 3 of us that have been playing together for over a year, and the other 2 have been recently added to our community. The majority of our group has both DMed and played as a PC for an extensive amount of time. Our games tend to last for the entire duration lasting up to 1-2 years. Battlemaps are a necessity as we aren’t really privy to “theatre of the mind” when it comes to combat. When it comes to general RP, we can go either way. The way we see it, the more visual aids the better. While DMing is a lot of work, we are looking for someone who is in it for the passion and enjoyment of it. We are only looking for F2P games at the current time. We find that when D&D is run in a business model, the magic is lost at times. Our Desires in a Campaign and DM: - Heavy RP and Story driven - Good combat, we can be mix-maxers at times - Prefer Light homebrew rules as 5e is pretty balanced - A DM who puts time into his prep (don't wing your sessions) - Integrates characters and backstory into their setting and campaign - Mature group (we are in our late 20s-early 30s); dont really want a group with teenagers or immature young adults. - We prefer a more serious tone and to be immersed in the story and world. - We like good character agency, but still want a main arc to latch onto. (We aren't interested in full sandbox games, but we do want the freedom to pick up bounties and choose where to go. We don't just want to hexcrawl.)
