Edited 1562626351
PLEASE NO MORE APPLICATIONS AFTER 7/8/2019 Feel free to PM me if you're interested in chatting, homebrewing, creating content for our favorite hobby. I'm always on Discord and happy to meet new people.  Hello everyone! My name is Sandra, I'm 28 and creator of my own setting called "Elluryon". I've been DMing my current campaign for about almost a year now. I've been playing RPGs ever since I was 16, but started with D&D in 2017. A little disclaimer: I'm German, I have a slight German accent and sometimes lack the right words, but I use a lot of pictures or different things to describe the scenery.  We're playing every other Saturday and we only play with EVERY player present. I'm looking for 1-2 more players to join us. I highly value and reward intense roleplay and in-character decisions. Although this is a magic/item intense setting, I won't be dishing out magic items or gold left and right - those have to be earned.  My setting comes with a self made, detailed world map, a setting guide PDF of 60+ pages (still in development) and 3 core players. Every creature or encounter is individually created and designed by me. I have an ongoing homebrew bestiary that I'm constantly expanding. We play on roll20 and use voice chat via discord. All rolls are made in secret in roll20 to avoid metagaming. I play select atmospheric music during the session. I might publish my setting one day, once it's completed and playtested. --------------- My expectations: - experienced in roleplaying (not necessarily D&D) - accept that DM rule goes over books/material rules - reliability to play in the given time frame - creativity - develop a background story, an interesting, in depth character with room for development  - ability to separate player knowledge from character knowledge  - honesty - If you don't like something, tell me and help me improve! ------------------ Your character: - official races & classes only (no homebrew) - start at lvl 5 - start with additional gear upon discussion  -------------- The party: The twins Jinx, Tiefling Wizard, and Onyx, Tiefling Cleric; Dworick, Dwarf Monk ----------------- The story: It is the year 7420 in Elluryon and this world has seen many big things throughout the time. In between wars, natural disasters and political tension, twelve so-called Factions came into existence. Each of them stand for their own values and virtues, have their own reason to exist and expand. Back when this world was new, several monarchies, democracies and all kinds of government started establishing. Power had to be claimed, fought for and maintained to create a peaceful life between all forms of life. And so they did for the longest of time – up until power was denied to those who sought it. And this was a big issue particularly to Belanor Viriya, a High Elf from Valdor in Reolor, who was not born to be king, noble or leader in any way. According to history, he felt destined for something greater but was denied to rise up, due to him being a low-born. In the year 925, he eventually crowned himself as the self-proclaimed “Dark King” who was said to have gone mad with power. His sigil and symbol was a Heptagon (7 edged polygon) which was referred to as the Elven Star. This symbol has ever since been forbidden.  The Dark King laid his former name off and was only to be addressed by his title, which is why many stories don’t refer to him with his given name. He wanted nothing less but destruction and power, not only in this dimension but in every other dimension. He started building an army of anyone who wanted to follow him into world domination – and he found many followers. He opened rifts into the Abyss, and even aimed to challenge and defeat Asmodeus, Chief of the Lords of the Nine Hells. The Dark King went mad with power and turned this world into chaos. His magic was purely evil and his followers knew no remorse, following him into death and beyond. He conquered Reolor and most parts of Northern Adratheron, but is said to have fallen in the Battle Of The False Prophet in Southeast Kanikonkath in 1482. Now, our heroes have seen the Elven Star at the top of the Dragonpikes, the mountain ridge that crosses Adratheron, and met a many masked figure. The creature with several masks as faces fed off the local town to gain strength as well as energy. The party discovers the mystery behind the energy drained bodies and faces the creature eventually. In their minds, a dark voice rings... "Your time has not come yet. You will be very valuable to Him, I must not take your lives yet. He will make good use of you, do... great things for you! HahahaHAHAAHA!" the high pitched voice fades away as the creature, badly hurt, escapes through an arcane door. Has the Dark King returned? Can he be stopped? Is someone spreading rumors or just trying to scare people for political purposes or benefits? --------- Interested? Then please send your application as a reply to this post. I will review it and contact you, if I think you would fit well. Please fill this out: Player Name:  Player Age:  How many years of RPG experience?  Which systems did you play? What is important to you in a D&D campaign? (Name min 3) Why would this campaign be perfect for you?
Player Name: Paul Player Age: 37 How many years of RPG experience? Dabbled when I was a kid, but really got into it in my late teens, so about 20 years of serious play. Which systems did you play? Started in AD&D, really cut my teeth in 3E and have moved on to each new edition since. I've also played Vampire a bit of Pathfinder. What is important to you in a D&D campaign? (Name min 3) The whole package is important to me, but very well done RP is my favorite, followed by great story intrigue and pacing, then interesting combat and topped off with puzzles and traps. Why would this campaign be perfect for you? Anyone who has put as much effort into their own world as you have really can't fail at narrative in my opinion, because the amount work means it's extremely important to you. Heavy roleplay is what really attracts me to apply, I have always wanted a heavy RP experience, as I find it to be one of my strong points.
Player Name: Nick Player Age:  24 How many years of RPG experience?  10 years of experience playing TTRPGs. It's always been a big part of my life! Which systems did you play?  I was part of a Pathfinder's group every lunch during high school and multiple 5e groups since then.  What is important to you in a D&D campaign? (Name min 3)  1) Exploration. I love puzzles and problem solving. Having space in a campaign to solve hidden mysteries and find the way to forward brings me a lot of joy.  2) Player unity. DnD is at it's best when everyone is having a good time together. Nothing makes a campaign suck for me more then watching half the table have fun well the other half is just counting the minutes tell they can move on.  3) Consequences/Challenge. To me, it's important that a campaign feels lived in. If you do things against the status quote, there are consequences. If you take a (well thought out) risk, there may be a reward. Campaigns that are on rails/ are sight seeing tours aren't for me. I want to use my mind to adventure, explore and create stories. Honestly the most fun in DnD for me comes from the in between of the session. Planning and hoping about what might happen next. The anticipation is important. Journey before destination.  Why would this campaign be perfect for you? The biggest thing I bring to the table is that I am a people person. My job includes a lot of public speaking, conflict resolution and the like. Therefore I have no problem helping come towards direct but constructive solutions. I want everyone to have fun together and I will put in my portion of the work to make sure that happens!  I'm also super on board with the wiz/cleric twins. Super awesome idea! (Dwarf monks are great too!)

Player Name: Sunny Player Age: 20 How many years of RPG experience? I've been playing RPG's for about 7 years. Which systems did you play? A little bit of everything! PbtA, Fate, Pathfinder. I have been playing 5e since it came out, too! You name it, I've probably played or heard of it. RPG's are my favorite thing What is important to you in a D&D campaign? (Name min 3) I think that the most important thing about playing with an RPG group is that everyone is having a good time. I mean, it's a game. Sure, we all want to make awesome memories and tell a super cool story together, but at the end of a session we want to be excited for more. We should try to facilitate each others fun Respect and communication is super key for me as well. Everyone should feel understood and welcome at the "table". LORE! Adventure! Diversity! I just love diving into new worlds, exploring them and learning about them and making a mark on them with other cool friends. Why would this campaign be perfect for you? Its tough to find earlier games online, and this game plays at a really good time for me! Also, the focus on story and roleplay is exactly what I look for in games. I love to focus on character relationships, and I always go crazy with my character, coming up with NPC's and secrets and that kind of thing, just to really establish myself in the setting. Plus, I also really dig ambient music. So yeah, this sounds like a game I would seriously love to join
Player Name: Aaron Player Age: 31 How many years of RPG experience? -I've been playing RPG's in the form of video games since I was very young, but I have recently started playing D&D Which systems did you play? -D&D 5th Edition What is important to you in a D&D campaign? (Name min 3) 1.] Roleplaying with other players that are interested in the aspect of growing their character and interacting like real people do. 2.] A challenging experience that makes people think about the decisions made and how to navigate them. 3.] An interesting world with dynamic, ever shifting plots and circumstances.  Why would this campaign be perfect for you? Exploring a fresh, new world would be amazing. The focus on things such as story and roleplay are a definite plus.

Player Name: Patrick (or AncientSpark) Player Age:  29 How many years of RPG experience? 13 or 14 years, ever since high school. Played a lot more starting from 10 years ago, in all sorts of mediums. Which systems did you play? I have learned a ton  of systems, D&D and Pathfinder being the most obvious, but everything from rules light stuff like FATE to more rules heavy stuff like GURPS, to even a lot of nichey systems. What is important to you in a D&D campaign? (Name min 3) 1) Heavy emphasis on roleplay. I don't mind combat, but the roleplay tends to be the reason to play tabletops over other mediums. 2) Setting, setting, setting. I get bored with generic fantasy settings without any details to interact with. 3) Teamwork. Especially in online games where people tend to not know each other as well, having a cooperative attitude goes a long way to preventing burnout. Why would this campaign be perfect for you? I'm a player that loves settings, so seeing that there is a lot of work in the setting definitely gets me excited over other kinds of campaigns. Joining an established campaign definitely helps too. The time is also pretty good for me, since I'm a graduate student and don't have much time besides on weekends. Finally, roleplay focus, yaaaay! I cut my teeth on a lot of roleplaying focused groups, especially in stuff like Play-by-Post where combat is cumbersome, so that tends to be my preference for games.

Player Name: Dan (Lazy Hydra) Player Age: 33 How many years of RPG experience? Depends on the point of view. Been playing RPG games since I was a child, however haven't had much opportunity to play a lot of TTRPG. The few groups I managed to find to play had the DM no longer be available within 2 or 3 sessions so I never got a chance to play an extended campaign. Which systems did you play? I have played a bit of 4e, 5e, and recently played a bit of 1e. Also played a bit of World of Darkness a few years ago, unsure of the edition. What is important to you in a D&D campaign? (Name min 3) 1) Having fun and a good time. To me, all good campaign should have a good balance of serious and silliness. Having a good laugh with some interactions and having fun memorable moments to talk about post game is the key to a long lasting campaign. 2) Character development. Due to never finding a long lasting group, I never got to experience developing a character over an extended period of time. Seeing a character start from nothing to become much greater, and to have memorable relationships is something I do think is important. 3) Teamwork. Players should be able to learn to work with one another, and strive to reach common goals. However, it doesn't mean that no conflicts should ever happen between characters, some of the most interesting Roleplay moment I've seen happened when two characters completely disagreed with one another. How the situation is dealt with however, is part of the teamwork aspect. Why would this campaign be perfect for you? The setting is intriguing and I am curious to explore it. I have been looking for a group to play with for a long time, and the time frame fits well with my own personal schedule. I would be honored to be given a chance to explore the land of Elluryon. I may not have as much experience as others, however, I am eager to get into roleplaying join in on the fun!
Player Name: Steve Player Age: 28 How many years of RPG experience? My experience has mainly been on the PC platform over the last 15 years spanning a variety of genres CRPG's (Pillars of Eternity, Baldur's Gate, one of my favorite games Divinity Original Sin 2), Bethesda titles, and A LOT of open world sandbox style games (DayZ, Arma, Conan Exiles, ARK, and others). I've been on various types of servers, many of which being RP servers. Only recently have I gotten into the TTRPG genre and I'm eager to dive in and play. Although my playtime in the TTRPG space is limited (1 session thus far), I have been watching various campaigns and "how to" videos; accumulating roughly 200 hrs of watch time. As well as starting to set up the Lost Mine of Phandelver to DM for some friends on Tabletop Simulator (pc game/platform). Which systems did you play?   Most if not all my research into DnD, since I've made the push to start playing, has been about the 5e rule set. The campaign that I've recently started playing is a homrbrew campaign based around Greek Mythology using to 5e rule set as a baseline. What is important to you in a D&D campaign? (Name min 3)  1) Something that really feels important to me in a campaign is character development. Why has my character decided to party up with these other individuals? Is it a selfish gain? Is it a debt he/she feels they owe? Is it just for glory? Endless questions with the other party members and npc's in the world all taking part in that story. 2) A slowish paced play-through. As stated above character development is very important in any type of game especially DnD in my opinion. So I want the freedom in between events to converse with the other characters. To learn they're motivations and and backstories, with that then building onto the world that the GM has already laid out. There absolutely is room for some hacking and slashing but without a connection to other characters or the world and a story to unfold the danger and emotion isn't there and it feels meaningless. 3) Respect between the players. Letting each player/character having there moment of glory in a battle or discussing with the party a plan of action to sneak into the old keep or simply a conversation around a campfire after a long day of travel. Every person wants to give the characters input on different situations and as a player you should respect each others time. I don't mean that everyone (characters) have to get along, conflict creates drama, but that they aren't being sidelined leaving the player to feel unwanted in a sense. Why would this campaign be perfect for you? The focus on heavy RP is very exciting and the world as well seems detailed and very well thought out. The story laid out in the description is very interesting with the various factions and influences in the world. It all seems to lead to a very well crafted story I'd like to be apart of. I do have a limited amount of experience in the TTRPG space but I'm eager to learn and explore.
Player Name: Kurt Player Age: 20 How many years of RPG experience? At this point I think its around 4, with most being behind the DM screen. Got started a bit early, but I can assure you that I'm plenty competent as a player :D Which systems did you play? Started on Pathfinder, but every since that first 5e game I just realized that you didnt HAVE to spend 90% of the session on drawn out combat encounters and overpowered build optimization. Its been mostly 5e since then, playing Mutants and Masterminds a few times along the way too What is important to you in a D&D campaign? (Name min 3) 1:Player cohesion. Not being on the same page can break a game before it starts. Be it meta-gaming min-maxing or over-complex backstory focusing, having a mixed bag in terms of expectations inevitability leaves someone disappointed 2: Communication. Might be my biggest pet peeve. Ive gotten through huge arcs of campaigns before without players telling eachother their preferences, playstyles, or their own personal pet peeves/faux pas, only to have the game fall apart to minor issues that could have been fixed if people just talked openly instead of behind eachothers backs 3: Players respecting DM fatigue. Maybe I'm biased, spending most of my time running games rather than playing them, but I feel one thing many people dont really think about as a player in someone elses world is the time and effort put into running the game. Sometimes it gets tiring, and I feel like as long as all the players understand that every session might not be a slammer, every detail wont be flawless, and every once in a while, the GM might need to take a break, then everything will be all good. Why would this campaign be perfect for you? I started playing tabletops after my highschool drama class got me into it as an imrov exercise, creating characters on a whim with ambitions and aspirations, and the first campaign I ever ran through followed the life of a wily merchant turned imposing overlord of the realms. I fell in love with the RP aspect of the game there, so reading that you need RPers is definitely a bonus. Additionally, I must've watched Lord of the Rings upwards of 50 times as a kid, we had the whole box-set on DVD ( what a throwback expression) The reason I bring this up is because Im getting some major LoTR vibes from the brief description of your game, and it sounds *just* dreadful enough for me to really get invested in without the whole world being a bleak and unfun area. If you would like to have an affable goofball like me on the team, I promise to try my best not to let anyone down
Player Name: Just call me Nightshade Player Age: 20 How many years of RPG experience? Just 1 Which systems did you play? Mostly D&D 5e, but have tried Mutants & Masterminds as well as FATE. What is important to you in a D&D campaign? (Name min 3) Good chemistry between players, DM that's adabtable and ok with players shanenigans and a story in which everyone can be invested. Why would this campaign be perfect for you? Well don't know about perfect. The setting seems intriguing, but it won't be enjoyable if played with jerks. So to see if it's going to be fun time I'll need to play with the group first.

Player Name: Kaveh Player Age: 39 How many years of RPG experience? Been playing on and off since my early teens Which systems did you play?  Various editions of D&D, GURPS, VtM, Numenera What is important to you in a D&D campaign? (Name min 3) ROLEPLAYING.  Living, breathing NPCs.  Three dimensional PCs.  Players that like to immerse themselves in the setting and bring their characters to life. COMPELLING NARRATIVE.  A DM with a sense of Story and Pacing.  An epic, overarching plot but one that can be explored in manifold ways. CHEMISTRY.  A group of people that vibe together and share the kind of energy that makes the game the highlight of the week. SURPRISES.  Twists, turns and the glorious reveal of the unexpected. CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT.  Characters with depth that are given interesting challenges and room to grow. Why would this campaign be perfect for you? Because intense roleplaying with real characters in a rich, homebrew world sounds absolutely terrific. Because the timing is perfect. Because the Story So Far has my imagination running wild and characters are already forming in my mind. Because I think German accents are cool. ;)

Player Name: Miguel Player Age: 38 How many years of RPG experience? 20 Which systems did you play? D&D Since elves used to be a class, Vampire and Dragonlance 5th Ed (DMing) What is important to you in a D&D campaign? (Name min 3) - Roleplaying (specially speaking as your character instead of saying "my character says ...") - Fun and chemistry between players - Consequences for your actions - Character development - A solid background history and not just a game where we drop from Tavern to Tavern, from Dungeon to Dungeon. Why would this campaign be perfect for you? It seem it match my criteria of what makes a good game. The story is very intriguing and seem to have somewhat of a dark tone where is harder to be a hero, which I like.  Besides, I have no problem with German accent as I am not a native English speaker myself ;)
