5e/dnd Homebrew Campaign looking for 1 player for Saturdays 5pm/pst.

This will be for our third session. Player flaked out (to be expected it seems) on 2nd session and dropped without saying a word. So, seeking one more player for our campaign Heroes of Taraborn Please READ EVERYTHING before applying. Details Time: Saturdays, 5 pm PST to 9pm PST (sometimes later if players can) Seeking one player, for a total of five. Current party make up is a Druid, barbarian, warlock and wizard (lvl 3) 21+ or older please. There will be adult content and situations within this game. Consider this a hard R rating. Looking for experienced players.  Must be able to attend at least 80% of the sessions. If two players are missing, the game will be cancelled. This is something that I wish to avoid. I have and will replace players who miss too much. Homebrew campaign with character creation listed below. Players must be mature. No infighting. No rule lawyers. If I make a decision, go with it, its part of the game.  The rule of cool is applied when needed. Player Handbook and xanathars is available on roll20 (owned by gm) to make character creation easier. Equal combat/roleplay. Some sessions will be combat intensive. Some will be RP intensive. I try to keep a good mix. Players must have discord and a working computer and stable internet.  27 point buy + free feat from a list of approved feats. Starting at 3rd lvl. Other rules for char creation in game.  Campaign   Taraborn is a world of stark contrasts. Lush, fertile jungles, rugged, snowy mountain peaks, and barren wastes where any life struggles to survive.  Every country on the two continents have their own flavor, their own history and traditions. From Shita, the lands of Minotaur pirates and mercenaries, Villonisia the picturesque Halfling countryside of rolling hills and fertile fields, to the elven kingdom of Huava and the Vampire controlled lands of Graul. Adventures abound, opportunity and death lurking around every corner for those brave enough to seek to find power, fame or fortune. This campaign is meant for mature adults, as it deals with mature themes and realism in violence, sexuality, death, joy and sorrow. Death is not only possible, but probably as I will not hold back from killing players if the situation warrants it. Monsters go for the kill if it is to their benefit, and NPC's will act in their own best interest.  Defeats only make the triumphs all the more sweet. This campaign will include dungeons, cities, towns and villages made from painstaking hours of work, made from scratch, taking advantage of the tools that roll20 has to offer including dynamic lighting. This campaign will take the approved backgrounds that players come up with and I will create hooks and campaign arcs centered around your character.I try hard to keep from railroading characters down a certain path, as much as is possible on roll20.  I want the world to come to life based around what your characters need, desire or fear. Nothing makes DND more fun than when you are INVESTED in your character.  Theme: Players can expect to travel across wilderness teeming with bandits, monsters and friendly or hostile peoples. Bounties and contracts are readily available for any groups that dare to seek out adventure. Towns, villages, and cities are filled with npcs, friendly, netural or hostile towards the players dependent on their actions and reputations.   DM Experience: Starting back in the 80s when my much older brothers needed another player, I played first and second edition nearly two decades. I have DM'd in four campaigns on roll20, nearly all lasting over a year before real life claims players from the game causing campaigns to end.   I put a lot of time and effort into my campaigns. Campaign Length: As long as players are interested, and as long as I don't drop dead suddenly. Roleplay and Combat This campaign will include Combat and Roleplay in equal importance. I need players to be active. You don't have to use a voice, we aren't all actors. However, I don't want a wallflower either. Everyone needs a voice in the group. Too often its just one active person, and the rest just let things happen. Make your character come alive.  Alignment: This campaign does not require characters to be good. However, you must create a character and roleplay him in a way that he can work in a party. Chaotic stupid is not allowed. If you become disruptive to the group or game, the group has the right to simply kill your character off or eject them from their party.  All actions of the party will have consequences in the game. If you try to murder hobo your way through life, the party will quickly find itself arrested or executed by the authorities. There's always someone bigger, badder and meaner.  Homebrew Rules 1. The lucky feat is not allowed 2. . Players start with one extra feat from a list I provide to choose from. 3. Dying can have severe consequences. Not only money, but a chance that you will not come back at all as the strain to your body becomes too much.  4. . Drinking a potion is a bonus action. Feeding a potion to someone is a full action. 5. . For level up hit points, players roll the dice. If below the average, players may take the average.  6. Spears do 1d8 damage one handed, 1d10 two handed. Sling stones do 1d4 damage, bullets do 1d6. 7. on a crit, you automatically max the original damage dice. So do monsters. Rules subject to change or addition, for pleasure of group or dm. To apply, please send a PM OR post below. Applicants 1. Can you make 80%+ of all of the meetings?  2. This campaign is rated R, with adult situations. Can you handle that? 3. What class/race do you wish to play?  4. Age/sex/location 5. Have you played dungeons and dragons before. If so, please describe your experience. 6. Have you played this edition? 7. How much experience do you have with DND and roll20? 8.  Do you have discord, and a working microphone that you can use to hear and speak through? 9. Can you play well with others?  10. Did you read everything? I hope so! 11. Character ideas?
1. Can you make 80%+ of all of the meetings? yes. Saturdays, 5 pm PST translates to 10am Sunday AEST for me should be no problem 2. This campaign is rated R, with adult situations. Can you handle that? yes 3. What class/race do you wish to play?   something Gish'ie or a front line type not to sure, you mentioned Minotaur however would love to get my Greek on and see Jason slain at my hooves 4. Age/sex/location: 27/M/AUS 5. Have you played dungeons and dragons before. If so, please describe your experience. 1year in 3.5e', 6months in 5e (player) 1.5 years in 5e (DM). (a few other more popular systems shadowrun, dark hearsey etc) 6. Have you played this edition? yes 7. How much experience do you have with DND and roll20? 3-4 years dnd, 1165 hours Roll20 8.  Do you have discord, and a working microphone that you can use to hear and speak through? yes 9. Can you play well with others? yes 10. Did you read everything? I hope so! yes, i love your spear rule (its criminally underrated in the PHB) 11. Character ideas? Its a home brew world. I would rather build the character with you rather then dump some generic backstory but some concepts i would love to try. Minotaur/Conquest paladin: His thought of perfection is to be the best by crushing all those who would challenge him. Centaur/Ancients paladin: a scion of the fey with the goal to protect the balance of the world as merely maintaining it is not enough. Human/Eldritch knight: mage hunter and spell breaker, those who use magic without care for consequence will one day meet him.
1. Can you make 80%+ of all of the meetings?  - I am eastern time, that would be 8pm to midnight effectively. My cut off point would be 1am if I have work the next day, and no cut off point if I do not work the next day. (Subject to change, but the usual is a 2 week schedule that alternates the weekend day I work on.. saturday this week / sunday next week)  2. This campaign is rated R, with adult situations. Can you handle that? - D&D touches upon a lot of those situations, realistic worlds will have that. Adult situations I can handle. - I will state that sexual assault in general is a huge no go for me. I will not be in a campaign if that happens to any PCs or NPCs. Implied in some manner for the story is fine, but if it happens/occurs during session I will leave.  3. What class/race do you wish to play?  - Woodelf is my favorite race so probably that. I as well usually tend to multiclass often to try and get some niche ideas built. I have some thoughts on attempting a super sneaky shadow monk with trickery cleric dip or possibly an archer role with Arcane archer and Scout rogue.  - People tend to call me a min/maxer because I love having versatility. I like having a wide array of useful skills that can be used in a variety of situations - specifically dungeoneering ones. The arcane archer/scout build I'm thinking is a great one but leaves the character with a wide variety of skills. It may be the one I pick, but if I do - I also tend to investigate/check all halls in a dungeon and doorway. If such a thing would slow down the game or become annoying to deal with, let me know and I wont.  4. Age/sex/location 24/m/USA 5. Have you played dungeons and dragons before. If so, please describe your experience. - Started off with 3.5e in 2015 as a young adult. Moved onto 5e during 2017. Pretty extensive experience with playing. Have DMed many one shots, a few short series games that took at most 3 sessions. Major experience in possible mundane dungeoneering, less experience with spells and such past 3rd level spells. I try to be creative in my characters verbal roleplay, but I'm not a good voice actor, so it comes out as me speaking a lot. I'm more descriptive in my characters actions if that's ok to fill in for the worse voice role play.  6. Have you played this edition? - Since 2017 - Have even homebrewed up some of my own monsters that pass CR calculation and balance eyes from peers among a large 5e discord community. 7. How much experience do you have with DND and roll20? - around 2 years of experience with roll20.  8.  Do you have discord, and a working microphone that you can use to hear and speak through? - Yes 9. Can you play well with others?  - Yes 10. Did you read everything? I hope so! - Yes 11. Character ideas? - Woodelf Shadow monk with dips in trickery cleric and possibly rogue as well. Great stealth build that would focus on buffing the parties sneakiness and work as a controller via stunning strikes.  - Woodelf scout rogue with Arcane Archer - A wilderness survivalist that would be far more comfortable in the wilds than in major cities. Hunter that lives in the woods but trades game to small villages to have the necessities he can't get from the wilderness. - if a frontline DPS/tank would be needed.. I also have a paladin idea but that one is... a build that goes off when they're level 10 so it probably won't be played. It is a hexblade treachery paladin build.   Of course since it is your campaign, I will try to get a judgement of how far we may go, and see what type of build would be more enjoyable.  I've been part of campaigns where the DM shot us through the first ten levels so he can toss us into his world of demons vs devils and then there were campaigns the DM felt more comfortable running an investigation into a black network, and such the creatures we'd be fighting won't have very high CRs and we stayed under level 5 for a long time.   If I'm chosen, the character I would like to play would ultimately depend on what type of character you want from me. I enjoy going through a DMs world and interacting with it so like I would go for the hunter who can travel through the wilds or the sneaky guy who can steal your NPCs secrets.
1. Can you make 80%+ of all of the meetings?  sat at 5... yes 2. This campaign is rated R, with adult situations. Can you handle that? you had me at Hard R 3. What class/race do you wish to play?  Bard/half elf or Bard/ human or bard/ dwarf (I'm looking to be a bard lol) 4. Age/sex/location 27/M/MD 5. Have you played dungeons and dragons before. If so, please describe your experience. yes. very pleasant. Ran a few campaigns as ranger and barb but I played a bard once and fell in love 6. Have you played this edition? this is the only edition I have played 7. How much experience do you have with DND and roll20? a few campaigns of dnd and 6hours on roll20 8.  Do you have discord, and a working microphone that you can use to hear and speak through? yes, yes, and yes haha it wouldnt be much of a mic if it didnt work 9. Can you play well with others?  yes. I try to feed off others so I can play more to how they want to do things. 10. Did you read everything? I hope so! yes. lvl 3 blah blah back in the 80's blah blah this is the form  11. Character ideas? I want to play a bard seeking to chronicle important events of every culture. That is why I travel, to make stories known by writing them and retelling them to crowds of people mostly at the taverns for drinks. Kind of "invited to leave" village due to drinking problems. (the race chosen will change reason for drinking slightly) Developed a drinking problem mostly due to boredom. I seek information and excitement. Looking to support a rag tag team of "heroes" and tell tales of their greatness to every establishment we encounter.
