Inexperienced player looking to learn GURPS, afternoons or evenings cst/est, any day except Wed.

I'm still pretty new to roll20, but getting the hang of it. I don't have much experience with table top role playing games but I'm really interested in it. I've been hearing some good things about GURPS and I'd like to give the system a try. Are there any patient dm/gm out there, that could run some one shot games for an old newb? Since I have an interest in playing various genres, and this is supposed to be where the system shines, I thought I should give it a try with someone experienced in the system to see how I get along with it. Some styles I am interested in are stuff like Dungeons and Dragons fantasy, Supernatural the tv series, Indiana Jones type exploring adventure, Vampire the Masquerade, Superheroes, horror mystery investigation (like Cthulhu but with a third option besides dead or insane at the end), Noir private investigator, and Star Trek. DM/GM's choice. I can clear some time to play almost any day of the week in the afternoon or evening. Currently any day is good for me except for Wednesday. Morning and starting really late night are just impossible for me right now. Those times are relative to the US time zones, I'm in cst, that's gmt-6, pst+2, est-1.
I don't know you, but generally, GURPS is not the best system for someone new to tabletop RP, it can be a bit rules heavy and character creation can be confusing. If you have read the character creation rules and are still convinced that you want to play, check out https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/10275/the-ethereal-prison we are currently considering changing times because i am a pesky european and the rest are americans. Please don't join if you don't think you can commit (assuming we find a time that works), we have already have alot of people coming and leaving two sessions after, can be especially anoying if the GM had to spend time helping a new player making a character for nothing.
All I currently have is the free quick start guide, and an interest to see how the game actually works. I want to give the system a try before spending the money to get the books. I'm currently not ready to join an ongoing campaign though. That's why I'm looking to try some one shots for now.
