Merging two campaigns

So, I am DM for two games.  One is a strictly roll20 game, the other was a live game.  Two of my players play in both games.  I say 'was a live game'because I recently moved and now I will need to make the live game a roll20 game.  My original intention was to have a moment where both games merged.  Yes, those two players will be playing four characters in total during those sessions! My question is, how should I set up the new roll20 game?  Can it be its own standalone game, or do I need to just make it a part of the existing game?  I guess my concern is that if I make it a separate game, I wont be able to merge the two parties down the road without headaches for the 'new'roll20 party...at the same time I don't really want to engorge the existing game with extra maps and so on.  It'll be more of an annoyance for me at that point trying to shift through all the maps and worry about which map to put the players on. Any insight on how best  to set this up would be great!

If you want to keep them separate for now, then maybe you should do that.  If you upgrade your subscription to pro for a month when you want to merge them, then you could use the transmogrifier tool to consolidate what you want from the game you want to phase out.
Ah, well, I also intended for the games to separate back after the merge.  I guess I should call it a crossover.  So how easy is it for characters to join into a second game while being able to return to their original?

If you just want to move characters from game to game, you're good to go at the Plus level already. You have access to the All Access Character Vault . You can move characters into that, and then load them into whichever game you want. It's a snapshot of the character at the time of uploading, not a live link, so you'll need to vault them back when the time comes.
Thanks!  I’ll give it a try.
