This posting is to join our game of five players four our Dungeons and Dragons 5e game (we have lost our sixth and are looking for a qualified replacement) . We play weekly from 8:15 PM to 11:15PMish EST each week, and require at least voice connection (we currently use discord for voice (text-only players will not work for our game). Please read this posting in its entirety. INTRODUCTION You stumble your way into a dusty town set inside a large crater, where the village of Welton arose. This tiny town of desert farmers and artisans wouldn't make it onto even regional maps, if not for a recent discovery of an entrance to an ancient lost civilization, waiting to be plundered by powerful adventurers. Though it also risks releasing ancient dangers, many have traveled here to seek their fortune. As you enter the village, you notice a posting on one of the message boards. It seems an adventuring party is looking for new members. What luck! Will they accept you? They better, if they know what is good for them! World lore: PLEASE READ QUALIFICATIONS Joining a game of DnD is not just joining the DM, but the entire party. It is a team game where we all are invested in each other’s success and fun of all the players. Our application includes questions from each of our party. For this campaign, we welcome all players (new and old) , but it is important you fit the following criteria to join our game: You are a team player and are comfortable sharing spotlight, and enjoy when others have the opportunity to shine. You are comfortable putting the needs of the group above your own. You are comfortable working in a team-based setting. Lone wolves need not apply. You can come regularly and consider yourself reliable and timely You love Dungeons and Dragons WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT IN OUR GAME - I try to run a game that balances the three pillars of the game (Exploration, Roleplay, Combat) equally. While some sessions may be heavily focused on one pillar, in general I do the best I can to maintain that balance. - I will dive into your character background and add elements of your character into the game. I.e. If your character was part of an organization, you can expect them to show up at some point. - You will be put on the spot for elements of your character’s background, and often they will be details you may not have thought of before. You should be comfortable improving (we do not judge). - I tend to write epic, world shattering story lines in the game I run. This campaign, I am attempting to break that trend and run shorter, simpler adventures. I am not likely going to succeed. - Our group is made up of friends who have known each other for decades, mixed with new friends we do not know as well. Our banter can be a mix of reminiscing old times, and enjoying times to come together. We try to be as inclusive in our conversations as we can, but mistakes are made. - Our group is very tangential. As a DM, I try to help keep us focused, but I also am not perfect. We try to be better, but ultimately, you should expect tangents throughout the game. PROCESS FOR JOINING OUR GAME: 1. Fill out this application . If the party agrees you could be a good fit, go to step 2. 2. Come join our session and roleplay an interview with the characters, potentially joining on an adventure . You will be invited to our game and join us on discord, temporarily. 3. If the party decides to keep you, it will be on a per-adventure/quest basis.
