While this is ostensibly for both myself and a friend, I do also just want to get into a game, even if it's just by myself. I'm the one taking the initiative to post, after all... Myself and said friend are 30-ish, with over a decade of experience each with Pathfinder and other systems, players looking for a new campaign to join. Our last one ended several months ago, and we figured it was time to find a new one. In particular, I was hoping to have a chance to test out a homebrew class I designed(with a fair bit of outside vetting) over the course of several months. Essentially a melee 3/4 martial, infusing low level minor illusion and debuff enchantment magic into their combat style and non-combat interactions. As a key tradeoff, they are more fragile (D8), and a fair bit less handy against non-sentient or mind-affecting immune(which accounts for a lot, really) and true-sight enemies. I certainly don't mind sharing the details of it(written up similar to a class page on pfsrd), if someone wants to take a look and critique. Iteration is a never-ending effort, after all. My friend is mostly looking to play a Master of Many Styles monk, although he did come up with a slightly modified, but much closer to the existing unchained monk than mine is to other existing classes, version of the class he wants to try out as well. As far as campaigns are concerned, I definitely have a fondness for homebrew, as I feel it often lends to a greater investment by the GM in the developing story. They also often avoid some of the railroad feeling many adventure paths induce. Nonetheless, a somewhat more open-ended adventure path could be quite fun, too. I enjoy the tactics behind combat, but also greatly enjoy campaigns where the players and GM get involved with their character's motivations. Well, as long as it doesn't get too absurd. A GM who likes to change up their voice a bit for different NPCs is usually a great sign of a good storyteller, That said, I have also enjoyed campaigns with GMs which really just knew the systems well, but didn't do a lot of personal roleplay into their NPC acting.
