Dynamic lighting extremely slow

I'm having problems using dynamic lighting in Wave Echo Cave with the Roll20 LMoP module.  In our last session, the load times after every movement any PC made were so long that it became almost unplayable.  Each movement caused everything to hang for ~10-15 seconds.   When I would remove a door to reveal a new room, everyone would be frozen for 30+ seconds. I'm using DL with AFoW and I can see a few other complaints that this feature has been slow lately.  However, we also recently ran Cragmaw Castle and had no problems.  Is WEC simply too big?  Is there some setting that I need change to speed this up?

Check to make sure that Global Lighting is turned OFF on that map. It does not play nicely with AFoW, and the symptoms you describe sound like that issue.

Global illumination is turned off.  I played around with settings and determined that it becomes unplayably slow when AFoW is turned on.  I guess this feature just doesn't scale well.  It's a little frustrating that I can't play with the features I'm paying for.
I'm glad you made this post. I ran into the same problem when my party landed in thunder tree ruin. Turning off the advanced fog of war feature seemed to do the trick like you said but I find this strange. I ran LMoP before and never had this problem until recently. It could be that the latest update messed something up but IDK. 
Hello all,  I am sorry for the delayed response. Please note that the devs are aware of issues resulting from using Dynamic Lighting and Advanced Fog of War. They are working to resolve it. unfortunately, we do not have a time frame for when the fix will be released.  We thank you for your patience while they work on the issue. 
Any update on this issue? I am thinking about subscribing but would like to use Dynamic Lighting and Advanced Fog of War together - does it work?

They do work together. There are performance issues on very large and complex maps, and at the moment, Global Lighting should be turned off when using Advanced Fog of War. Devs are reportedly working on replacing the code with a new paradigm of some sort, but that will likely still take some time.

I'm currently running LMoP so was interested to see Jake's comments on Wave Echo Cave. I think I'll wait before subscribing.
We ended up shutting off AFoW for Wave Echo Cave. The speed was just too slow.  I haven't had problems with other areas in LMoP or elsewhere, but I don't think the core problem has been resolved.
