Splash Screens?

An old idea (I think the original topic that inspired this was about a year ago ) but wanted to start a new thread on splash screens and see if anyone other than the usual suspects have anything new to add to the idea. I build my own using nothing but Roll 20 Tools, but i'm curious what other people come up with. I prefer an RP style of game as opposed to a crunchy game, so the splash screen can add alot of character to the campaign. I try to do a new one every 3 to 4 games, but i'm curious what kind of stuff other people have done ..... http://screencast.com/t/a3yCwx1558

I don't have art on my "splash" page, but I let my players doodle all over it as they please. One of my players is an artist, too. No, that isn't a penis by Oakheart. That's a drawing of a log that was... moved to an unfortunate location.
I use mine for both a parking space between games, and as a way of keeping track of the various ongoing quests. I also like to put up a little cartoon or funny image every week, just to keep things interesting. Unfortunately the image is too tall to fit in one screen without zooming out past the point of readability, so... Ok, it's still not readable. Oh well. You get the idea. -Phnord

This is the splash screen for our Witch Hunter: The Invisible World campaign. Nothing too fancy. I was going for stark minimalism and atmosphere.
Here's one of the splash screens for my King Arthur Pendragon campaign — inspired by my buddy Tom's Witch Hunter screen above (I play "Raphael" in his WH campaign). I have variations of this as players move through the campaign (armor gets upgraded as one moves through the various "periods" of pseudo-history).

Always, brother. I should mention that the illustration on mine is concept art from the Mount and Blade game, widely available on the interwebs. I've never played the game, but they have some smashing art!
ha. yeah i didn't draw mine either. I just steal crap off the internet. I figure a D@D campaign meets the criteria of fair use. I like both of these.
I just use a general picture I found of deviantart with the title of the campaign put over it, though some of these do give some interesting ideas

This is the new splash I made for the Spelljammer campaign I'm running. The constellations were made with the polygon/line tool. The actual splash was made from a background image (the galaxy view), a rope graphic, a manipulated pulley photo, and textures I manipulated in photoshop to look like objects (the railing and the parchment pieces).
